Our visit was sort of a coincidence - we came for a long hike in the Möhnesee forest but hadn't found a suitable overnight stay there. We visit friends in Soest but always take the opportunity to have a walk around the city walls and into the centre. Its a nice picturesque old town with very good shops, restaurants and cafes. We ate in the Pilgrim Haus hotel restaurant which is excellent and also the town centre cafe near the pond. My aunt (not a guest) joined me for breakfast which was only €10.90. Breakfast is lovely. White and seedy bread rolls, croissant, hard boiled egg, meats and cheeses and of course very nice coffee.
