Stunning building dating back to 13c which has been sympathetically restored and turned into a hotel. So much character but with all the modern conveniences. Our room was fabulous and such a comfy bed. We had an evening meal which was freshly prepared with the best ingredients and amazing value for money. Nothing not to like.

We were greeted by the owner who gave us the key and introduced us to the house. He was also always kind and avaible for further informations. The house is genuinely rural, according to local historical tradition. It allows you to feel the authenticity of the ‘Pueblo’ (Almenara de Tormes), where the delicate 12th century Romanesque church cuts out the sky. Only 15 min car drive away from Salamanca, it is definitely a great location to explore the surroundings.

If you find yourself in the Salamanca or Zamora areas, you should stay here. It is like an oasis. Good location-small town. Definitely rural. The owner/manager was very gracious. The food is excellent-restuarant attached. The rooms are very adequate. The setting is the strongest asset. Be sure to catch the sunset from a nearby "pico" Easy walk from the hotel. Very impressive what the owner has done. There is no place like this for miles around.

This converted convent is in the beautiful Duero Valley and has its own vineyard and a spa.

Once you overcome the fact that the hotel is behind a truck stop, you are pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome and the traditional surroundings. The evening meal was delicious and their house salad would feed four easily for a reasonable price. Our room was at the rear of the hotel, very quiet and offered us an exceptionally cosy comfortable night’s sleep on amazing supportive pillows ready to start our next leg of the journey. There is also plenty of open space to walk your pet if you have one.
