What a delightful, modern hotel beside the canal outside the walled city of Dinan! The canal area is picture-postcard perfect. Our room was clean and comfortable, with the added conveniences of electric window shades, spacious shower, and a room safe. We made good use of the hotel's robust spa. Had the weather been just-a-little warmer, we'd have availed ourselves of the outdoor pool, as well. The buffet breakfast was both diverse and delicious, with a wide array of tasty offerings.
The staff could not have been friendlier, nor more helpful. A special shout-out to Bruce, who, that evening, was on-duty at both the Front Desk and behind the bar when we decided upon a nightcap. He makes a mean Old Fashioned, shared perceptive stories of his own travels, and provided us with many helpful (and appreciated) suggestions. He's a credit to the Mercure Dinan team!
