The reason for our stay was we were going to watch a football match. We would be arriving before check in time, so I contacted the host, who was wonderful and said we could park our car there and take the room key, but unfortunately the room would not be ready. This was not a problem as we could leave our belongings in the car and then just go straight to our room on our return. The host greeted us at breakfast, which was a lovely variety of continental delights, in addition to a cooked breakfast. Plenty of food! The host left us to eat as a family, checking in once that we had everything we needed and then as we finished came in for a chat which was lovely. Very personal, much nicer than a chain hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but this is available downstairs in the dining room. There are a selection of eateries at the end of the road, about a 5 minute walk

Convenient for Wembley and Alexandra Palace, Heatherbank Guest House offers good value and high standards in North Finchley, 20 minutes from London city centre.

The only breakfast they offer is continental, and the choice is limited. Yet what is on offer is good.

Plenty of eating options pubs and bars, shopping centres, open spaces eg. Parks etc, Tube station at the end of the Northern Line. Seems a friendly place people pass the time of day and speak to you in most places. Could have spent longer there, as it does have a lot of culture which I could have learnt more about. Can be a bit busier at peak times with traffic and school runs etc. but plenty of crossings on the main highway though.

    The friendliness of the neighbourhood.

The friendliness of the neighbourhood. The access to restaurants and cafes - there is such a variety of cuisines! The access to transport - easy access to greater London by car or train. Plus a big Sainsbury's on the High St.

My attraction to Barnet is Oak Hill College, where friends are studying for their degrees in Theology. Barnet itself has nice cafes and restaurants and is a relatively safe and quiet area with easy access to London and Heathrow.

If you want to enjoy a great and delicious pizza (make me feel hungry just write about it), go to Volare Restaurant (at 167 Bowes Rd.), Sila and Virginia and the rest of the staff will received you with open arms, and I assure you that you will eat very, very well.

Beautiful grounds and an attractive lodge for a quiet, peaceful visit, just off the M25. A great place to stay outside of London, with a direct tube line to South Kensington if you wish to visit the Natural History Museum, Science Museum or the Royal Albert Hall.

I truly appreciated the staff's effort to meet my requests! As I was traveling for work and did not know the area before. I wanted to be able to eat in my room as soon as I got home storing the food in the fridge and heat up the food in the microwave, that was of tremendous help! The kind staff that worked there, Paul whom I met, was pleasant, friendly and accommodating allowing for a late check out as well and I also got upgraded to a nice room with very comfortable beds as well! Will be booking my next work trip with the Glenlyn hotel!

Jasmine, the owner, was very pleasant and hospitable. She was very accommodating with our late night arrival. The room was clean, beautifully decorated and organized. The beds were very comfortable, and there was a lovely view of the garden. The breakfasts were varied and very tasty. The property is located in a quiet and very accessible area, close to the metro. We would be happy to return on our next visit to London."

it was cheap for London. The staff were helpful and appeared to be trying to improve things. the hotel desperately needs money spending on it. from a location perspective it’s in a leisure park away from the town which is ok if you’re driving, and buses do run nearby. it’s about a mile from the main “town” of North Finchley and the nearest tube station

It was great to come back to the peace and quiet of Barnet, the apartment and the small but lovely garden space after an exciting day in London. The train connection was very good to city centre and Harvey and Hillary were totally welcoming and helpful.
