In the beautiful and peaceful village of Hatfield Heath, just 10 km from Stansted Airport, this family-run hotel has its own leisure centre with a heated indoor pool.

We went to the Hunters Meet to celebrate our friend’s 70th birthday. We purchased tickets for the Motown evening and had a great time. The rooms we had were very comfortable and nicely decorated. We will definitely do this again!

This 4-star country-house hotel is set in a beautiful 110-acre estate on the Hertfordshire/Essex border.

Everything… beautiful building in a quiet tranquil location. Beautifully decorated, lots of places to sit and relax. Food was outstanding. Service was amazing and staff were incredibly friendly. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and made an extra effort to celebrate a special birthday. Thank you all! We will be back.

Located in Bishop Stortford town centre, The George Hotel Stansted Airport is set in a 14th-century inn, just a 10-minute drive from Stansted Airport.

The Location is a definite plus as is the History of The George It was clean but small rooms. Comfortable enough being it was just for a place to sleep. My family would stay there again.

The cottage is a beautiful bed and breakfast. It's very quaint and traditional Our room was very spacious, decorated to a high standard. We had great views out over their beautiful garden.

Great communication with the host. It was clean and tidy on arrival. The bed was very comfortable and milk in the fridge was much appreciated. The towels were a bit jaded and there was no dishcloth to wash dishes but they were minor negatives.

    We loved everything and would stay again. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff were excellent, and nothing was too much trouble. The food for the party was lovely, tasty and just right. Although all the staff were wonderful, Tanya the breakfast host was always available and did everything we asked for.

    This charming, quiet town has lovely canal walks and a large public park next to the town centre. The high street has good eateries and nice little shops. Don't miss the Coffee House Cafe, with it's great sandwiches and all-day cooked breakfast! If you want to explore further the helpful staff in the central tourist office will suggest various self guided historic walks. It is a perfect spot to overnight only a 15 minute drive from Stansted airport (and is NOT on the flight path, so no noise of passing planes), and easily reached by public bus #510 (or #509) which runs a regular service to and from the town even at night.

    We know bishop Stortford. It’s a pretty place on the canal. Really good walks out and about and a nice town. To be honest you won’t want to leave the hotel for too long tho because it’s so bloody lovely.

    Bishops Stortford is a lovely old town which is relatively compact so it is easy to walk around the town centre. There is a good range of shops and quaint tea rooms and excellent restaurants. There’s a river and the station is close to the town centre. It can be a bit noisy especially on Saturday evenings.

    Bishop's Stortford is a very picturesque town with friendly people who seem disposed to being welcoming and helpful to travellers. We were only passing through on our way from Stansted Airport to London, nevertheless, we enjoyed visiting the town and would have liked to have stayed a little longer to explore it a bit more

    I had limited time to explore the town but I enjoyed walking around on Saturday and noting the mixture of the old historic architecture and the new building. There were plenty of options to eat or stop for a drink.

    Perfect for an overnight stay. Economical use of a small space. Welcome pack of milk/fruit/biscuits a nice touch. Electric fan was a result as stay was during the heatwave. 10 min walk from town centre. Park directly opposite to walk the dog round. Recommend the Dogs Head pub in town, nice burgers/beers and very dog friendly.

    Lovely place and perfectly situated for the airport and the town of Bishops Stortford. Directly under the flight path of the airport so if you’re a light sleeper the planes might put you off. Good hotel with good facilities and nice staff .
