Good breakfast cooked to your order. Very considerate hostess assigned me the warmest room and reminded me to check possible road closures after snow.

This is a wonderful hidden gem for Caerphilly and the hosts are amazing, friendly and very accommodating
A roaring log fire and fantastic views of Cardiff and the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan make this hotel and its restaurant an ideal venue.

The location is exceptional, with a tremendous view and very quiet. The room was huge, and had doors between the bathroom and bed that added quiet. The staff were amazing and helpful!
The shower was just ok. It had a combined waterfall/hand wand, but the water pressure was terrible. The overhead shower was useless, and the hand wand was frustratingly weak. The bed was large, and relatively comfortable for two. It did have a worrying tilt where the feet were higher than the head. Breakfast was anemic. There were choices of juices, cereals, fruit, toast, and some packaged yoghurts. The fruit was in no uncertain terms, pathetic - a combination of children's canned fruit medley. The yoghurt appeared to be the same childish selections. I did have the porridge on two of the days - the first day it was fantastic, and the second it was pasty to the point of being inedible.
Set in 100 acres and with an 18-hole golf course, this 4-star hotel offers beautiful views from the Blas at Bryn Meadows Restaurant, serving local produce on a seasonal menu.

Caerphilly isn't a beautiful town, but it's a great place to stay for stunning scenery half an hour away in the Brecon Beacons. It's ace is the Caerphilly Castle which is the second largest in the UK and should be on your bucket list.

We were there on a Sunday and it was raining pretty heavily. Only a couple of places were open. Luckily we got into YFan earlier and had a lovely rest and a tea while waiting for our room thanks to the hosts. They made our stay more pleasurable.

For business and just an overnight stay, we didn't spend a great deal of time exploring.
I would definitely revisit though.
Roads are clearly marked and there is lots of car parks or on street parking depending on the length of your stay. Quite hilly in some areas so worth driving around for 5 minutes to find somewhere more suitable if needed.
Morrisons has a large car park limited to 3 hours.
We visited the Courthouse for an evening meal and would highly recommend this pub. It's just lovely!
Plenty of seating both inside and outside, with a view of the castle.
Food and drink was good and the staff were polite and friendly.
We also visited the Piccadilly for a game of pool. A quieter pub (Tuesday) but both locals and staff friendly.

I was travelling on my own with my dog. I often do this, but one of the downsides is not being able to have breakfast because I cannot leave her. Breakfast at Rhymney House Hotel is excellent and my dog was allowed with me at the table.
I was greeted as I entered the pub and helped up to the room with my case and bag. The room had everything I needed for my stay and was clean and odourless. The bed was very comfortable. The WiFi was very good. There was nice grounds to walk my dog. Probably the best value hotel I have ever stayed in.
The property was centrally located with excellent views of Caerphilly castle right across the road. The apartment was delightful; bright, airy, clean and fully equipped. There was tea, coffee, bread and milk left for us which was a lovely touch. I’d highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. There is also an overnight security guard who was so lovely and accommodating.
Lovely location within a short walk of Caerphilly town centre, with the residence itself in a beautiful spot. The house is over 500 years old and steeped with interesting history, and the owner is happy to indulge and answer any questions you may have! The rooms were huge and very well appointed, and the host couldn't do enough for me!
Easy to park. Handy location for walking to Caerphilly Castle/town centre, and for train into Cardiff.
Easy access to woodland walks/Clay Pits and Caerphilly Mountain.
Made good use of the rotary washing line.
