The receptionists on Sunday and on Monday was very welcoming and informative about the area.
The staff in the restaurant (breakfast), very attentive and ensured personal needs were met. And was ready on the table (soya milk).

AustraliaFalsely advertising. There was no wifi, no tv in the room, water damage all over the ceilings, holes in the walls, you name it. We asked if we could leave due to 1000 reasons which they falsely advertised and they said yep fair enough and that we would receive a refund. They’ve ignored our last three attempts to contact them regarding our refund, which we never received. This shouldnt be allowed to be on booking.com

I’ve visited Chirk on many occasions for business and...
I’ve visited Chirk on many occasions for business and leisure. The village is quieter since the building of the bypass. One feature to see is the aqueduct. Nearby Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is famous but Chirk Aquaduct is impressive too. It runs alongside the railway viaduct over a deep valley. Disappointing. Don't be taken in. It's not really a castle, its a stately home and not a very interesting one at that. Only part of the 'castle' can be viewed, what can be seen is not very interesting and poorly presented and not set in context. There were no information screens, very little signage and what information there was consisted of 'this is a painting of a person you've never heard of. This is another'. We took a dayboat hire for the family out of the Anglo Welsh...
We took a dayboat hire for the family out of the Anglo Welsh marina at Trevor and travelled down the canal down to Chirk, passing over the famous aqueduct. The hotel is outside Chirk, a few minutes drive. The town is quite small but has a good free car park. We couldn't visit the castle as it was closed due to bad weather. The Llangollen canal is nearby and good for walking. The aqauaduct is interesting. The staff were all friendly and helpful. If there was a downside, it was the noise caused by traffic on the road outside. I would certainly consider staying at this hotel again when visiting the International Eisteddfod at Llangollen. Note that the restaurant is permanently closed so you have to go out to eat which is fine as there is plenty of places a short distance away. Breakfast was very good. Lots of choice. Ate in the Waterside restaurant which was very busy but food was good. The breakfast was excellent. Staff all very pleasant and helpful.
