I love the artistic motif. this is a really cool place. we were looking for something off the beaten path as we traveled through Wales and this place really fit the bill. my wife is an artist and this is like a little artist colony kind of place so she loved it as well. We had a triple bunk room which I'm a dummy and just thought there'd be three bunks in there. not an actual triple bunk and my wife is a little bit claustrophobic so she had trouble getting in the triple so we asked them if perhaps they had another room and they weren't that busy and they did and they moved us into another room with just one bed in it for us which was above and beyond and I want to thank them for that. once again. we didn't meet the lady of the house but we didn't meet Vinny and he was awesome as was their caretaker and I'm sorry I forgot his name but he was very cool too. I think Lawrence but just a guess but you are awesome dude...
anyhow, great place. really enjoyed the vibe here.

Suited our needs for a one night stay but would not use again.
Shower was awful, only one towel and food was below average.

It was a comfortable bed and a nice setting and the staff were pleasant.

Young man was very friendly and offered to help with our bags. Easy parking on the road near the property. Our room number 4 upstairs was 2 rooms. A double and a single bed then there was another room with 2 singles. Family room but there was only 2 of us and it was so cold.
I should have read more of the reviews before I booked, when I read them after it shows that the heating is always broken and not working. This place would be fine for the summer months. Also toilet seat doesn’t fit on the toilet. So when you sit down the lid of the toilet seat falls on to your back!! When I was in the shower the water went cold for a while too! ( as my husband brushed his teeth) so even though it’s an electric shower it still goes cold when someone puts the taps on!
Immersed within 9 acres of beautifully manicured lawns and forest in Blackwood, this majestic manor house enjoys an elevated position on Maesrudded Hill, with spectacular views out over the valley.

Excellent host and quiet, comfy room. When Steve learned about our plans he offered suggestions that were very helpful.

The host Ruth was wonderful, accomodating and always ready to assist where possible to ensure our holiday was stress free. The recent Heathrow close down was something no one expected and luckily Ruth allowed us to extend our stay at Cwmcarn. The house was perfect, homely, warm with lovely décor.
A beautiful home for us to come home too at the end of the day to relax. Thank you Ruth for your hospitality it is very much appreciated.

This gorgeous accommodation was perfect in every way, there...
This gorgeous accommodation was perfect in every way, there was nothing that we wanted for. We could actually live here. Everything was top quality and the beds were luxurious and extremely comfy! Looks even better in real life. High level of cleanliness and the welcome pack of fresh bread, milk, Welsh cakes, jam & butter was just lovely. Thank you so much Ruth!
