The room was excellent, with a king size bed, and huge shower. Everything was spotlessly clean.

Conveniently located for sight seeing around the city itself, short walk to the train and our day tour pick-up points. Nice view from the window on the 7th floor looking out towards the Scott monument and park. Staff were helpful, one in particular writing up a list of suggestions for places to eat after asking what sort of food we wanted and offered an umbrella to use when the rain started

Overall very good. Pleasant and helpful staff.
Only downside was poor lumpy pillows, which were replaced but they weren’t much better.
In the heart of historic Edinburgh, ibis Edinburgh Centre Royal Mile is situated just off the historic Royal Mile. The stylish hotel has a lively bar and spacious rooms with internet access.
Lovely quaint town to visit at Eskbank in Dalkeith.
Lovely quaint town to visit at Eskbank in Dalkeith. Brilliant place to stay and lots of small independent shops and some of the staple ones too, such as morrisons! Steeped in quaint little buildings! What's not to love

Small town situated south of Edinburgh.
Small town situated south of Edinburgh. Typical high street with its Palace and magnificent park grounds are easily accessible. Could easily spend a day as the grounds are vast. The town has some beautiful Victorian properties.

The public transport links were very good so no need to drive into Edinburgh, we never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus.the location was very quiet and the little shopping precinct inside dobbins garden centre was a nice surprise .

We visited Edinburgh and surrounding areas rather than Dalkeith and ate mainly in our hotel facilities apart from small lunches in town. We had visited Dalkeith previous and it is simple to visit attractions nearby but not all of them are our scene and the one visit previous did suffice, also we did not bring a car this time so Dalkeith and surrounding attractions weren't quite so viable whereas Edinburgh has many central attractions to walk to or by bus.

We stayed here to visit Edinburgh.
We stayed here to visit Edinburgh. Approximately 40 minutes from hotel to Edinburgh by bus. Buses regular intervals. No 3 or 29 takes you straight into the main shopping areas. Great views, hotel and restaurant brilliant

The rooms at the Sun Inn are very nice and the breakfast is very nice. Service is fine. There are though no hotel amenities and it sits on a very busy road. The Sun Inn was once one of the top gastropubs in the UK but no longer holds that reputation. A pity but I understand that the appropriate staff are difficult to find for its location which is not good. That said, the dinner I had one night was very nice.
The hotel was close to a bus stop which was important for using public transport. The breakfast was very interesting. 8 of us sat together round a large table, which meant we met other guests. There were cereals, fruit, etc. The hot course was mainly fish or fish and eggs (kippers, herrings, smoked haddock with egg) - traditional Scottish breakfast. The hotel was a traditional older house.
The apartment was nice clean, and warm. It's about 20 minute drive to the City Center of Edinburgh. There is a close Train station Eskbank busses are running every 10 min. We chose to stay in Dalkeith as it was closest to the project we were based on. Definitely will stay again.
