Offering a garden and mountain view, Bowtop Wagon at Lettoch Farm is set in Keith, 40 km from Kildrummy Castle and 42 km from Corgarff Castle.

Caitlin was really friendly and we felt very welcome. "Ailsa" the little bowtop wagon was cute and much cosier than we had expected. We stayed during a cold spell in autumn but it's well insulated and the little electric heater was more than enough to keep the chill off. It's in a beautiful, quiet location at the foot of the Convals, not far from Ben Rinnes. It was also a great base to explore some of the local distilleries!

Immaculate room with everything you needed. It was soooo comfortable and warm especially when outside was cold and wet at times. Pippa our host was lovely and gave us privacy whilst responding immediately on messages. Highly recommend

Set high above the village of Charlestown of Aberlour and overlooking the River Spey, this elegant country hotel is an ideal venue for shooting and fishing, and for whisky-lovers.

Really impressed with nearly every aspect of the hotel, very professionally run. Proper coffee and cafetiere in the room was very welcome. Nice evening meal but breakfast was star of the show, stornoway black pudding, best quality haggis etc all cooked to order with fresh, strong coffee... one of the best ever.

Situated in Cullen, 34 km from Huntly Castle, The Seafield Arms-Cullen features accommodation with a terrace, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

Breakfast turned-out to be most extraordinary on Wednesday 9th April. I ordered a very simple cooked choice of two friend eggs, one slice of black pudding and some bacon. When brought to my table I was amazed and surprised that the member of kitchen staff saw fit to put the two fried eggs onto the plate! The eggs were way overcooked and looked like they had been lying around the kitchen for some considerable time - the whites had moulded together into one - the yolks were way overcooked and dry and solid and had each shrunk and had detatched themselves from their whites. I have read great online reports of amazing breakfasts served at the Seafield - clearly mine was not one of those. The lady server did suggest that the two eggs could be replaced but I decided to continue to just eat the bacon and slice of black pudding. I think the main issue here is that the kitchen operative had pre-cooked too much on Wednesday morning- some of which they decided wrongly in my opinion, was still in a suitable condition to serve. We are all capable of making slip-ups in our lives and at least it wasn't life threatening. Kind regards, Ian M

The town is very historic but seems to lack the vision other towns in Scotland seemed to have found. The main street could be more ornate to capture attention of people passing through (as well as encourage better usage or street front property) and the commercial street behind the Main Street is not easily found or accessed…. Might be best to make a parking lot at the park on south end and make the commercial street a walking venue with ornate and historic flavor to attract both local people and travelers….

A good array of local and National grocery shops either side of the river, including a large Tesco. The Indian takeaway is also a big plus! The local shops and bakeries were all great. Great mainline train service down from Inverness or up from Aberdeen, plus the quaint heritage line from Keith Town station to Dufftown. Keith is well placed to explore the NE coastal towns and villages, across to Aviemore or Glenfarclas distillery (shameless plug for them), or indeed into Aberdeenshire.
