My recommendation is to stay at the White Horse Inn, in Leiston, which didn't come up when I searched, maybe because they have a charge for dogs. I walked there from where I'd booked (1mile from Butcher's Arms, Knodishall). Next time I visit Sizewell beach, I will stay at the White Horse. We knew Leiston of old.
We knew Leiston of old. This is not an upmarket tourist town, but its location for Minsmere (and ineed much of Suffolk - Blythburgh, Southwold, Saxmundham, Framlingham, Aldeburgh, Snape etc. - is excellent. And all the people we met were great.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom - Review score
Leiston is well located for visiting other places nearby...
Leiston is well located for visiting other places nearby such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Southwold and Sizewell but is not a particularly attractve in its own right. Plenty of local fast food places to eat but you have to move a little ot of the town for bit more variety. Formerly an industrial town, though in the midst of an agricultural area and only a few miles from the coast, Aldburgh, Snape Maltings Concert Hall, Minsmere RSPB reserve. Town centre has a very interesting industrial museum, but is otherwise uninspiring and surrounded by modern housing developments. The garden room is lovely with two armchairs and a very comfortable bed.The television is on a swivel so can be watched from the chairs or the bed.A nice touch, I thought. The garden is lovely, and it was nice to sit out with a glass of wine. Breakfast was excellent, and Alistair is very willing to accommodate any dietry wishes.
