Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, Sarn Y Glyn in Mid Wales Cambrian Mountains near Llanidloes Powys is located in Caersws.

The Chalet was really like brand new. The sofa bed gave us another double bed to use so we had two doubles and two singles. The best value accommodation around the area for that quality. We will definitely use this property again. I was with a few friends for an off-road course in Wales near Llandiloes. John the host couldn’t have been more helpful right from the start. Because the Chalet is a few miles outside the town of Llandiloes I was concerned about getting in and out of town. The Accomodation in the town was also full, it’s a very popular and beautiful area. John right away advised me of taxi numbers I could call to book a cab to get in and out after a meal in town. He even offered to drop us in town and to pick us up if we couldn’t find a cab for any reason, but cabs are no issue. Due to the location, friendliness and attentiveness of the host and the superb quality of the accommodation if will definitely book again if we are off-roading up there. The town is really lovely also and there is actually a pub just down the road from the chalet as well. Thanks for hosting us John and thanks for all the advice about the whole are over those few days, see you again.

The bedroom was a decent size, with ensuite facilities, and tea/coffee/kettle. The staff member who showed me to my room was friendly and helpful.

A nice little town with some interesting shops, old pubs and nice places to eat. However quite a few places did not provide food Tuesday and Wednesday evening. A good location for driving to Hafren Forest and walking the Severn Way.

Llanidloes is a beautiful little town in an area surrounded by stunning scenery and landscape. It was some very useful facilities for the traveller. A coop supermarket for a larger shop or a Spar smaller shop for a convenient shop. There are a few takeaways on the high street which are good. I didn’t use the local pubs so can’t comment but they all seemed to serve food as well. If you’re looking for an action packed town with a busy night life it certainly doesn’t have that. If you are looking for a quiet stay in an area that feels very safe this is the place. It also has a laundrette with self service washing machines and tumble dryers just off the high street which are very useful for anyone who is travelling and staying in different locations. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Llanidloes is a lovely part of wales with the river and reservoir featuring so strongly. Local hotels/pubs were both welcoming and exceptional value for money. (Local welsh ale in hotel bars was £3.50 a pint) May 2024 which may give you an idea of the value. The fishing at the reservoir is exceptional and again very good value.

Llanidloes is a delightful town, with a good array of bakeries, cafes and other eating places. People ate very friendly. Very convenient for hafran forest, severn way and glyndwrs way. With lots of beautiful scenery around. However, Mondays are very quiet, with several places closed.

Nice little market town that is recovering from Covid closure. Wonderful butcher in the old market in Royal Oak St. With the River Severn running through the town there are some very lovely parts of the town. The Red Lion is a good pub with great beer and bar food. The Raj Mahal was super for curry. The Spar shop had everyday stuff and there are some super locally owned specialty shops and galleries. There are good EV chargers in the Mount St carr Park.

We stayed in the Shepard’s hut, the view was incredible and the hut was so cozy. There was hot water bottles electric blankets and throws if you got chilly and even a little radiator. It was perfect we both had a lovely stay. The pizza night on a Friday is a must we really enjoyed them. Llanidloes is about a 10 minute drive away so perfect if you need to get any bits or want to pop to a local pub or for some food. The Swedish bath was amazing and was amazing to look at the stars at night from.Thankyou for an amazing stay.

A little gem hidden away above Llanidloes. Great hosts who although not originally from the area had a great knowledge of the history of the building and the area. Great breakfast will be back.
