The drive from the main road is 5 miles up a country lane but the venue is worth the drive. The South Coast : Torquay, Brixham, Paignton, Dawlish etc are all within a 40 minute drive. We couldn’t fault our stay, we booked last minute for one night but decided to stay for two because we liked it so much. The area is perfect for walking if you don’t mind a few hills! Was a very peaceful place with an amazing view and sunset. ( probably sunrise too but the bed was so comfy and curtains so go quality I misses it .) The staff and owners were so friendly which was lovely as we had only come for one night on my D/O just to get a bit of relaxation with my partner as birthday and anniversary was due to . - Review scoreExcellent · 476 reviewsOverall, we had a good experience here. Firstly and most importantly, the food was very good, especially the specials - kudos to the chef. The pub has a very cosy atmosphere, and so do the rooms which have nice decor and a nice view outside. The location is very good if you intend to visit Dartmoor Park, plus it's a short car ride to the nearby small towns (and Plymouth).
