Great location, huge room, nicely decorated and friendly staff! There were some works going on but breakfast across the road was still great! Room surpassed our expectations - perfect for three friends travelling. Nice to have coffee and water in the room

The rooms were located within easy walking distance of the High Street and the bus station with connections all over the island . The room was large, comfortable and with character. The Manager kept in touch before we arrived to ensure a smooth check in. The breakfasts and dinners we had in the restaurant were outstanding. Staff were all friendly and accommodating, giving us helpful information to navigate the Isle.

The location was perfect, 5 minutes walk to the bus station. My husband walked the whole of the Isle of Wight coast path and therefore used the busses each morning and afternoon, whilst I was able to use busses to explore the Island as a tourist. Our bed was comfortable and the room was clean and just about big enough with an adequate hanging rail in place of a wardrobe. There was always plenty of hot water and the shower was very good. Breakfast was excellent, and Julie was very accommodating, friendly and genuinely interested in what we were doing each day, with helpful tips for me on good cafes, galleries and shops. It was early April which meant the tourist season hadn't properly started but we were able to eat at 5 different good restaurants in Newport so we didn't need to use our car at all during our stay, which was a definite bonus.

Cute little pub, friendly "locals", and good room, with little touches that made up for the size. Easy in and out, nice atmosphere.

We wanted to visit all parts of the island so its central location with a variety of pubs and restaurants was ideal. However, it’s not the prettiest place on the Isle of Wight and the traffic at rush hour was heavy and compounded by roadworks.

Not the most exciting town but a great centre for visiting the isle of wight by bus as most routes start and finish there and the buses are reliable - I used it as a base for walking the first half of the coastal path. It also has a reasonable choice of eating places

The town itself was not inspiring.
The town itself was not inspiring. WE only spent a short time in town. WE stayed a few miles ouside and the surrounding countryside was very nice. Good location to explore the island - although the size of the IoW means any base is never far from anywhere!

Newport was not dominated by a shopping mall, and there was a good variety of shops. There were some pleasant open spaces. The bus service to other towns on the Isle of Wight were good.
However, the public toilets had not been cleaned for quite a long time.

We had a wonderful stay at Hewitts Restaurant and Rooms. The rooms were super cute, spotless, and gave a lovely homely feel. Service was prompt and smooth throughout, making our experience even more enjoyable. A special shoutout to Dean, who was absolutely amazing – so warm, helpful, and accommodating. Having paid parking right outside the hotel was a huge plus as well. All in all, a very good stay – would definitely recommend and return!
The breakfast were amazing and freshly cooked to order
It also provided my favourite breakfast which I had each day. The gardens were excellent and very sheltered. The hotel was incredibly quiet and we slept better than at home in the comfortable beds. Excellent bath and shower.
Very comfortable B&B with excellent hosts. Location in centre of Newport with plenty of parking and a place to store cycles. Lots of restaurants and pubs nearby for evening meals.
The hotel/pub is quirky, in a lovely location with bus stops outside to both Newport town centre and across to the Needles.
Staff friendly and helpful, breakfasts very good.
