We stayed in Saddleworth especially for Whit Friday celebrations and although the weather was mixed, it didn’t disappoint. We had beautiful blue skies for our walk in this part of the Peak District. While Oldham town centre is much like many others you'd visit, the scenery in the nearby pennines is something else entirely. Walking, cycling and driving are all very enjoyable and there are loads of different routes to take. Snake's pass is a local favourite for motorcyclists. There are loads of beauty spots, just pick a route across from Oldham to Yorkshire and plan to stop for a picnic. One thing you should try in Oldham is a curry or kebab. Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi populations have been long established in the area and the food is affordable and fabulous even from the most basic of take-aways. The room is not children friendly.
The room is not children friendly. It is untidy and the bin is rusty and filled with rotten dirt. The walls have mould and its peeling and the bed sheets are so dirty. The TV remote had no batteries and I couldn't find a way to turn on the heater for my children. When I chatted the host on how to do this, he responded okay. The host is also very rude and a liar. The room I was offered to stay with my kids and wife is room 1 but I rejected it and I had to get a hotel on another platform as booking.com could not provide one.
