Featuring a private beach area and views of sea, Torridon Estate B&B Rooms and Self catering Holiday Cottages is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Torridon, 38 km from Victoria...

Great location in the middle of beautiful ‘nowhere’ …but everywhere you’d want to be on a visit to the Highlands.

Torridon Youth Hostel is situated in an idyllic location amongst the Torridon Hills and in the shadow of the 3,000 foot Liathach peak.

The kitchen was exceptionally well equipt and the communal areas were well maintained. Everything was brilliantly clean.

Situated beside the picturesque Loch Maree, this hotel was built in 1872 and once hosted Queen Victoria as a guest.

Great views over the Loch. Lovely old house. The food was very nice, evening meal and breakfast.

On the shores of Loch Gairloch, Shieldaig Lodge is one of the few remaining traditional Highland shooting Lodges open to the public.

Nice little charming property with lovely views and a good restaurant. Overall the place is tired and needs refurbishment. Expensive for what you get.

    Do not go to Shieldaig

Do not go to Shieldaig It is just a load of lochs and mountains There is nothing to do there except stare at them, sail on them or jump in the lochs or walk up the mountains, which are, basically, just big piles of rock that get narrower as they get higher until they disappear altogether and you have to come down You will hate it

Not a 4* hotel, or even 2* and very over priced!

Not a 4* hotel, or even 2* and very over priced! The hotel is rather 'tatty' and linen was 'tired'. Dinner had been pre-booked but then cancelled at the last minute without any apology or any alternative suggestions being offered. Things happen, but what matters is how they are managed - Tigh an Elieen didn't even try to manage it (except to offer a packet of crisps). Shieldaig is 10miles from other places to eat and even they are limited in number, so the consequences of 'dinner is cancelled' are significant. Overall, very poor and the only recommendation is - avoid, go elsewhere.

    Sheildaig is ridiculously beautiful.

Sheildaig is ridiculously beautiful. I don't want to say too much as I don't want to see the place overwhelmed.. Good eating places, kayaking etc. Art courses in nearby Kishorn; beautiful walks to everywhere.

Shieldaig is a lovely place. Very quiet and relaxed.

Shieldaig is a lovely place. Very quiet and relaxed. It is advisable to bring food with you as the only place to eat in the evening is the hotel and they had a very limited menu. There is a place called Nanny’s which is open during the day but closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Otherwise it means driving outside of Shieldaig. The local shop does have a variety of goods but is rather expensive.
