Located in the heart of Tutbury, this splendid 15th-century inn, steeped in history and full of character, features traditional open log fires and oak beams.

Location, ease of parking, staff were friendly. Lovely touch though with a Christmas gift left.

Surrounded by 8.5 acres of beautiful grounds, The Boars Head Hotel offers an à la carte restaurant, and a traditional carvery.

The room was large and well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were really accommodating. Hotel was well situated, being close to the A50 yet feeling as though you were truly in the countryside.

Tutbury is a really lovely place in very nice countryside.

Tutbury is a really lovely place in very nice countryside. The high street has retained its quite select features, is clean and well cared for. The hotel is central to the street. Not a place for retail therapy but one excellent antique centre in the old Chapel plus a few eateries and take-seats. Overall it is a lovely central place to stay.

Lovely little village, quiet but went in March.

Lovely little village, quiet but went in March. Castle not open but we had a pleasant walk around the village. There are a few shops for browsing. The Courtyard cafe is worth a visit - had a lovely brunch there and the coffee was great! the Hourglass is also recommended - light evening meals - had the veggie platter; very nice

Nice quaint village with plenty of character and history. Nice food at the Dog and Partridge, bit tricky to get to using the Satnav from Alton Towers but might have been my navigation! Will be visiting again soon.

Tutbury was a lovely friendly town with everything you needed within walking distance. Our favourite place was Ye Olde Dog and Partridge Hotel where we stayed overnight and ate and drank there also..

A lovely little town, and very quiet at night, until a poor lady with mental health issues kicked off in the street in the middle of the night. Looking back, I should have called 999, but someone did come along and calm her down.

Very quiet village location, near to shops with private parking. Good communication from owner, with clear instructions. Property was immaculate, with everything needed - and more, as we did not use the breakfast provided (due to having brought leftovers from our afternoon tea at a local hotel). Would love to have stayed longer, but this was just a stopover to break up a journey. Would definitely love to stay again.

The pub was lovely, as was the room; an 'Oldy-Worldy' pub with all mod cons. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The food (dinner & breakfast) were excellent. Early check-in 2pm meant we could settle in and enjoy the afternoon, and late check-out 11am meant there was no morning rush. Situated rght in the heart of Tutbury village which was a pleasure to walk around,
