Pier has been refurbished recently, and now has 2 pinball machines. It has lost it's charm though. The loss of the the cafe at the top of the road up from the pier has been very disappointing. It used to be one of the main reasons I visited Walton, They used to serve real homemade chips (like mum used to cook). I do miss this. The pub opposite used to do really nice food, I am going back about 10 years, but is very poor now. The cake shop could do with longer opening hours. The record shop 'Format' is good, sadly not open on Sundays. The walk to Frinton is nice when the weathers fine.

Lovely family and dog friendly sandy beach.

Lovely family and dog friendly sandy beach. Gently sloping into the sea. The sea seemed clean as the water was clear. There are plenty of options for takeaway food if you don't want to cook. We also went to the Cafe on Hall Lane on Saturday evening for delicious Spanish food.

Lovely beach but the town is very dilapidated.

Lovely beach but the town is very dilapidated. The fish and chips were the worst I’ve ever had! Frinton looked much nicer and I wished I’d stayed there but this place is dog friendly, so that was good.

Great beach, and if you have kids then the pier is a good distraction if the weather is bad. Love that at low tide you can walk from Walton all the way to Clacton on the sand. Great pub The Victory - worth a visit.
