The Canionel guesthouse is situated right at the Martvili canyon, in the middle of the tourist attractions, and next to the visitor center. During the day, the area is very busy with tourists arriving for the day. Very calm during the night, when the tourists have gone. The rooms were comfortable, simple and very clean. We had a little balcony which I loved. You can make your own coffee and tea at a table next to reception and there is a restaurant serving beautiful Georgian dishes attached to the hotel. Staff were very friendly. We had a great jeep tour to visit the waterfalls with the hotel manager.

A lovely place to stay and an excellent location for exploring the canyons and caves north-east of Kutaisi. Staying here cuts 30 minutes from your journey and allows early access - before the crowds - to the various attractions - well worth it. The room is spacious and clean and comfortable.
