We were really pleased with the hotel as it was so centrally located. Part of the hotel has been recently renovated and for a 3* City hotel it was an excellent choice for us! The breakfast was perfect and the coffee really good. We are both quite fussy about our coffee and it was a good quality one - not too strong but not too weak. It is a really important choice I believe - which coffee is served during breakfast. Thank you for that - we gave 10 out of 10!The actual choice of breakfast was really good enough. This a 3* hotel was better than many. The staff including the room service lady, reception & the bar man were absolutely great at their jobs. They showed us they all had real passion to do their jobs well and this was really noticable - again 10 out of 10! The actual room was fine and the bed mattress was the best for me - the firmest I ever slept on as I have a major back problem.
Grand Hotel is centrally located in Larisa, 300 metres from Historical Folklore Museum and 600 metres from Archaeological Museum of Larisa.

The staff is very kind. The hotel is very well located, there are many pubs and restaurants, I got a very good room. I read some reviews complaining about the noise coming from these pubs. I arrive on Saturday and there were a lot of people in the street, but I didn't hear any noise.
The room had all I needed and bed was very comfortable.

The location is great, close to everything! We parked the car in front of the hotel. The employees are really friendly, we asked for additional towels and hairdryer, they provided them to us very fast.

Larisa is the center of the main agricultural region of Greece. It has a good shopping area, and the area around the river and cathedral is very nice. However, many areas of downtown appear neglected. This begins with the railroad station which is desparately in need of a repainting. The townhall is dirty, and quite a few sidewalks would benefit from a cleaning. The few archeological locations are not inviting, although they are very interesting. Abandoned and dirty buildings in these areas do not help. However, Larisa offers relatively easy access to the Meteora monastaries, Volos, the Vale of Tempe and Mount Olympos. This makes it a convenient location for a series of day trips. Larisa can easily be reached by train from Athens and Thessaloniki.

The city is very lively and people are extremely hospitable. It is a perfect place to get a proper Greek experience. It's big enough to have a lot to offer and to not be bored, but small enough to have everything in walking distance and not to be crowded with tourists.

Though Larissa is not the fancy place like Thessaloniki, or Athens, this town is vibrant, young fresh and if you love going for coffee, you’re just at the right place, in the whole planet. Never seen so many coffee shops in such a small area like in this town. It must be the metropolis of coffee. Besides that it has a great center place with walking areas never seen before, if you love the shop if you love to hang around if you love to go partying that’s really a fantastic beautiful place. The city has also an ancient Pötter where you can see a nice amphitheater, right in the middle center of the city

There are a few points to visit but you can do it in a day or two. Unless you prefer shopping and nightlife sort of tourism, it is best to use Larisa as a base to visit nearby places. It has very good transportation system for local, inter-region and all the major Greek cities.

The host, Metaxenia, was beyond helpful and kind. Prompt to reply, easy to find and very helpful with anything asked of her. The suites are brand new and located in the heart of Larisa, very comfortable and with a choice of very aesthetic materials that make them look like a 5 star hotel. Highly recommended.
Clean and comfortable apartment. Very smooth check in process. Everything that I required was there. Close to coffee shops, markets and to the centre of Larisa.
