The location was amazing in a beatiful setting. The hotel is made of stone, with beautiful details, wooden doors and other interiors. I have never seen such a beautiful place. Breakfast was great and it was very close to the center with a lot of cute shops, cafes and restaurants. The hotel's own bar is providing an amazing view and a great selection of food and drinks.

One of the best properties I've ever been to in Pelion.
Stunning view from the balcony.
Cozy and comfortable room which was warm enough for our whole stay.
The sound of the water flowing just by the property adds to the tranquility of the place.
Very tasty breakfast with various options.
I'll visit again for sure.

Where to even begin? I love this place so much. It had all the ingredients that make up a beautiful memory. The location: just perfect. The view from our room upon waking up was just breathtaking. The room was warm, roomy, with all the necessities to ensure outmost comfort. But what makes this place so special is the people who run Archontiko Melanthi. Upon arrival we were greeted with handmade liquor that lovely Kiki's (the owner) husband makes. Unforgettable. Miss Kiki was the sweetest, most warm host any traveler could ask for. Everything that made the place unique and beautiful was touched by her artistic spirit: from the wall decor to the detailing on the mirrors and wooden furniture, you could tell everything was made with love for the fine things. The entire team went out of their way to help us. On the day of our departure we had to leave very early in the morning and miss Kiki insisted to pack us a full-on breakfast to take to-go, the night before. Can I say more?

A wonderful location, only 20 min from the city of Volos, with plenrty of tradirtional small stores selling local tea, woodcraft and sweets, very nice (spicy) food, and very nice narrow passages for walking tours.

While Makrinitsa in Pelion remains as enchanting as ever,...
While Makrinitsa in Pelion remains as enchanting as ever, it's crucial to highlight the aftermath of the 2023 flood, which has left the roads from Volos to the village in disrepair. Navigating these roads, particularly at night, can be perilous, warranting caution and attention from travelers, especially those with cars. Despite this challenge, Makrinitsa's beauty perseveres, offering a worthwhile destination for those willing to plan their journey with care.

Amazing place, Makrinitsa is the jewel in the Pelion...
Amazing place, Makrinitsa is the jewel in the Pelion mountain. It's only 12 or so kilometers from Volos and is easily accessible by car. However, keep in mind that the village is a strictly pedestrian area, so finding a parking spot in the parking at the village entrance could be a challenge. Get there early to beat the crowds and maybe you'll get lucky.
There are a number of very good traditional Greek tavernas that you absolutely need to visit, many souvenir shops you can spend a few euros at, and a wonderful cafe with the best portokalopita and karidopita you can find.
And last but certainly not least, Makrinitsa and the mountain Pelion offer many hiking treks you can follow.

Beautiful place but a bit "commercial"!
Beautiful place but a bit "commercial"! It depends on the style of holiday that you want to have. In case you want to have the trail in your holiday maybe you have to consider also visiting the other side of Pelion. Makrinitsa is close also to Volos in case you want to have a drink or taste local food. Overall a beautiful place to have a short trip!

The staff was very friendly. The hotel is being run from a lovely family. The view from the room was spectacular. Breakfast was very rich, with tasty choices. There is a private parking in the property. We liked it a lot and we will come back in the future.
The view from the room was stunning. The hotel was a very beautiful interesting old building, additionally renovated and very clean and warm. Very nice breakfast and hospitality.
