Clean island and very green, olive trees everywhere. Very good roads around the island, but not in the city center on Mitilini :-) Tasty food. Polite people. Plenty of Monasteries and Churches to visit. It was such a delight to watch the red Flamingos at Kalloni natural park. We have stayed at this property 4 to 5 times and each time we have had a wonderful experience. The location is magical, with the balcony overlooking the sea and a perfect spot for breakfast coffee and watching sunsets. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well supplied with essentials like refrigerators and kitchen items. The host, Thomas, provides helful information about the rooms and the surroundings. We only stayed one night as we were catching a ferry to Chios the next day. The town has a lot of bars and restaurants but not many old school tavernas. However, there was something about Mytilini we did not like, there are lots of other nicer towns to stay in on Lesvos. Mytilini it is ok for a one-night stay, but I would not want to be in the town for any longer than that. Unfortunately, there is a lot of social issues currently in the city as it has a large migrant population. Mytilini is a vibrant city with interesting back streets (especially Ermou Street), cafés, restaurants and small shops. Good for an outdoor social night life. It is close to the airport and a good base to explore the island. We ate breakfast and dinners in backstreets, generous portions. Wonderful churches and museum. They made me feel at home and listened to my problems. My total reservation was 3 days. But there was room for 2 days. While I was stressed, Maria found me a hotel to stay and took my hand and took me there. very helpful people. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and a historical building. Many thanks to Dear Manager Mr Agis and all the staff. Mrs. Hara made our breakfast more enjoyable with her hospitality. The breakfast was so good, Greek yogurt, cheese, börek and honey was sooo delicious! The room was very clean and has a wonderful sea view.
