Coban is a relay station to reach other places in Guatemala...
Coban is a relay station to reach other places in Guatemala and as such, there is not a lot going on inside the city itself. I highly recommend taking half a day to visit Las Victorias National Park, which is inside the city limits. A former plantation, the park is replete with the flora & fauna of central Guatemala and has an amazing history! COBAN is a very beautiful town and there is an Ancient Cathedral in front of the Central Park. There's a local market where you can find handwoven typical clothing and other handcrafted products made by the natives. There are good restaurants also, like HDR (Hacienda Don Rafa), El PE-NASCAL, where you can order dishes of Mayan origins, like KACK-IK for example. There are places of extreme beauty near Coban with plenty of very low price transportation. You can visit the Central Market located only 6 minutes on the outskirts of Coban.
