Staying at Global View was a total time warp- taking us back to the 60s. Big spacious rooms and very attentive staff. A small fleet of enthusiastic ladies delivered nasi goring to us a full hour before we intended to get out of bed (6:25am)…so…. thoughtful!

The place is a 20 minute walk from the airport, so very convenient if you have a flight to catch like I did.
There are food places opposite.
The bathrooms were big and clean. Good shower with hot water.
The capsule had good temperature control and privacy. You get a locker outside the room if you need it for luggage.

Nia is the nicest owner we have met in 2 weeks in flores. Our flight from maumere was cancelled and we come to ende to try to find a new flight, and she went out of our way to help us ! Most owners in flores try to help you with travel-plans, but she travelled a lot herself and is very western-minded, so all her tips were super usefull (in contrast to some of the other “help” from other owners ;)) They also let me use their laptop to send some emails to the insurance company.
Our room was very clean and cosy as well. The aircon is very good ( Ende is sooooo hot … )
They drove us to the airport for free when we left !

A very vibrant and busy town, as a white family we attracted a lot of attention, not always good. Uncomfortable walking around the town. We used taxis to move around the town. If I was traveling by myself I would have used public transportation, the bemos look fun!

Ende of the world?
Ende of the world? Not quite but nothing much here for us tourists except for Bung Sukarno’s home. (Indonesia’s first president 1945-67)
There is a garden too but that was closed. The waterfront had some nice looking cafes but most were closed. There is a market and a number of other shops as you would expect in a mid-large town.
