Stayed 10 days. Lovina has enough restaurants, markets & shops, but was very quiet. We were there in January during wet season, but it only rained 3 times (for short periods) even though it rained a lot more in Kuta/Legian area over the same period. Don't go to Lovina if you want nightclubs. It you are after a quieter, less hectic, relaxed holiday Lovina is the place. It does take a few hours driving to get there, but enjoy the scenery along the way & it is definitely worth the drive. Will definitely be going back to Lovina. We liked Lovina, great choice of places to eat, cute streets to walk along (beware the uneven paving!), had a massage, watched the sunrise and enjoyed the boats leaving for the day. Walked down to the dolphin statue and out on the wharf, think we would have seen more if we had a longer stay. Lovina is quiet and that’s about it.
Lovina is quiet and that’s about it. We have stayed there twice now and there’s not much to do. We’ve had a go at the dolphins. Fantastic if you don’t mind the sound of around 200 small outboards at 6am in the morning. It was very underwhelming. Other than that there’s not much to do. I was expecting to be able to go for swims but the beach is dirty and the water is worse. Took two trips from here. One to see the dolphins which is a sad experience. Far too may boats ( I counted about one hundred) literally chasing the dolphins as they surface. We love Lovina.
We love Lovina. The beach is close and the sunset cocktails are affordable. There are heaps of nice Warungs/Restaurants within walking distance and the snorkelling day trip with the local deer at lunch time was amazing. The beach in front of the Hotel is beautiful and much more private than Lovina beach/other beaches nearby. Breakfast was delicious, we even got homemade bread. Staff was great and the lady who owns the place was very nice and warmly welcomed us. Also, she allowed us to spend some more time by the pool even after official checkout time! Restaurant and pool area by day and night very beautiful and cosy, great to relax and swim. Room was amazing, great eye for detail with flowers, a luxury experience. Yoga classes every monday and thursday. We really appreciated the free shuttle service that took us to the village at least 1-2 times per day. Best of it all, the staff.
