The rooms are basic but comfortable, in particular the mattresses are very good. We loved the location, right in the little village with a couple of warungs only a few minutes away by scooter. The real highlight though was the hospitality of our host Adie. When we arrived Adie took us on a tour of the local area, including to his coconut farm where he shared fresh coconuts with us. Adie also invited us and other guests to his family home to share iftar with us, so generous and the food was delicious! We felt very looked after during our stay.

Beautiful new property overlooking the bay. Great restaurant, quickest quality meals you’ll get in Indo. Can see three surf breaks from your deck. This part of West Sumbawa is beautiful, more remote unspoilt. If you want quality accommodation in West Sumbawa it’s not cheap, this new property is great value. Will definitely return, thanks team.

Many of the facilities that were said to be available were not. This is concerning when the property is isolated, as it is at Scar Reef. Things like ‘driver available’ when we found there wasn’t a car for use at all, many things were not on the menu, no water working and the staff did not tell new guests until they had already gone up to their room, and then the guests had to come back to reception to ask about the water, when they could have already been told there was no running water and offered a discount. They need to refresh their snorkelling gear, as there is only one mask available. Yes, it is a beautiful ‘out of the way yet on the beach’ accom, but the owners have ‘abandoned’ the lovely staff who work best with what they have.

Everything surprised me here! I even felt a little offended that in this house, which I rented for 20 dollars, everything turned out to be better than at home. The kitchen is more thought out and convenient, the water is hotter, the pressure is stronger, the bed is more comfortable, the air conditioner works better. Everything is at some fantastic level of quality and convenience. And all this for 20 dollars a night. I can definitely recommend this place!
