Achill – 11 hotels and places to stay

Minaun Cliff View offers accommodations in Achill, 2.2 miles from Achill Golf Club.

The hosts are so kind and flexible - they even left breakfast snacks out for the next morning. The home was so comfortable with a gorgeous view. You can just sit there and admire the view in the morning. And the location is pretty central to everything making for convenient day trips throughout the island.

Greystone House in Achill provides accommodations with a garden and a shared lounge. This bed and breakfast features free private parking, full-day security, and free Wifi.

Our stay at Greystone House was brief, but a very pleasant experience! Fiona was an excellent host and made us feel most welcome from the moment we arrived. Parking was very easy, as the driveway was wide and there were plenty of spaces to park. All the major sights and points of interest are within 20 minutes or so from Greystone House, so it's very conveniently located. Fiona gave us a tour of the place, showed us to our room, and showed us the common areas, where we could make ourselves a cup of tea and sit and relax. The house itself is very clean, tidy, bright, and cozy. Our room had a private, ensuite bathroom, which was a great feature to have even though we stayed only one night. Our breakfast the next morning was so delicious! Fiona had an assortment of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, and pastries, as well as an option to have a hot breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection, exactly as we had ordered it, and we were well fueled for the day of sightseeing ahead! We wish we could have stayed longer and explored more of Achill Island, as it was the most beautiful place we saw on our trip. We would love to come back to Greystone House and stay for a longer visit!

    A hidden gem in Ireland.

A hidden gem in Ireland. Some of the most beautiful beaches and sea cliffs I have ever seen. I highly recommend driving around the Island to see the Blue Flag beaches as the Silver Strand and Golden Strand beaches are just as beautiful as the famous Keem and Keel. You must drive to the top of the cliffs to see the panoramic views of all of the Island and the mainland.

What I liked most was the professionality with which the business was being run and the breakfast. Since this was the first time for me in a hostel there was nothing about which I could be dissapointed.

I've been to Achill a few times.

I've been to Achill a few times. It is a magical place - a paradise island tucked away in the wild west of Ireland, with breathtaking views and tropical beaches. Keem Beach on a sunny day could be a shore on any exotic island. Mountain peaks, cliffs, rugged shorelines. Sheep wandering freely around the roads amidst the lilies and rhododendron. A peaceful escape from the mainland.

A large enough island to keep you occupied for a whole weekend even out of season. A fascinating history that is easily accessible to visitors. Amazing landscapes. A wonderful background energy from being at the edge of a continent. A perfect spot to observe the end of the World!

the stunning beauty of the Island is the reason to go.

the stunning beauty of the Island is the reason to go. Plus the best oysters in all of Ireland (go to Dublin's finest restaurants and Achill Island Oysters are on offer). Like the quietude of Achill Island, not full of tourists like many places along the West Coast which have transformed into Coney Island tourist traps. Achill remains truly original and raw.

Absolutely stunning part of the west coast.

Absolutely stunning part of the west coast. I'm loathed to say how good it was because part of the charm was the remoteness. White sandy beaches, torquoise water and plenty of hikes to do - really get back to nature in a place like that.
