The location was great - on the water just across from Portmagee on Valencia Island. June was a welcoming, responsive, and helpful host! The room was perfect for our one-night stay.

Alan was an excellent host, the rooms were comfortable, food good, but best of all were the views which were absolutely stunning! I didn’t think I have ever stayed in a hotel with better, (and not forgetting a word for George the cat who was a very welcoming co-hosts).

Loved the location! The little private beach at the back was paradise, we loved siting there on the bench looking out over the sea. The extra blankets provided were a nice personal touch.

This place was so cosy we stayed for one night, 3 sisters. The fire was set for us in the kitchen and sitting room, it took some time to heat up, but when it did the place was really toasty. Beds had electric blanket on each one, bed linen was fresh smelt lovely, bed needed the electric blanket as was cold, it been February. Kitchen had all that we required. Sitting room was cosy. Don't expect 5*, it's a rustic farmhouse. Bathroom was nice and big with beautiful tiling and large shower, beautiful sink and the rustic wooded sink surround was beautiful. Would have loved to have sat outside and enjoyed the lake view but unfortunately the weather was cold and wet. Right up the road we visited Geokaun Mountain and Fogher Cliffs fantastic views, we also went to the Slate mine and down to the Lighthouse. Absolutely fantastic scenery on our doorstep. I would definitely return here again and would definitely recommend Boss's Farmhouse.

Pauline was a lovely host. Nothing was too much trouble.
Very nice accommodation in a beautiful spot, quiet and relaxing and the communication with the host was excellent.
The use of what’s app was very important.

I booked the place so last minute, and still got really good service and a really clean place. The host was so friendly and accomodating and the area is amazing! Would love to stay here again
Sive Budget Accommodation in Cahersiveen provides pleasant accommodation close to the many sights of County Kerry. This busy market town offers boat crossings to the World Heritage Site Skellig Rock.

The breakfast was delicious.
Fruit juice : Fry with sausage, eggs and bacon : Loads of tea and toast
We had the perfect room for us. We were a couple and my sister. Our rooms were in a little annex out the back. We had adjoining double room and a single room. They were separate but shared the same entrance and shared a Jack and Jill bathroom.
There was a lovely seating area outside our room too. It was so quiet, we slept soundly. Very comfortable.
There is on-street parking right outside the door.
We loved it. Location, cleanliness, breakfast, staff, value for money were all perfect.
We would definitely stay here again

So many little gems on Valentia Island, we visited the Cable Station House and had the tour which was so interesting, we went on a nature walk nearby, we visited the slate quarry, Glanleam beach, we drove down to the lighthouse, the scenery is just beautiful, the Royal Hotel does gorgeous food, and the room was very comfortable and spacious, by accident we found the Geokaun mountain and cliff walk, which was spectacular as was the Bray head walk, Valentia Island is well worth a visit.

We found plenty to do and had plenty of time doing nothing.
We found plenty to do and had plenty of time doing nothing. There was plenty to occupy us for a week without going too far or touring about. We were mostly on the island. There are places to eat out and drink, although eating in is good as there is a superb fishmonger across the ferry, Quinlan. Recommend the Skellig Museum and its combined special offer of a trip around the Skelligs, Bostons Bar and the cable museum. A few interesting short walks, 2 to 3 miles.

The cottage that we stayed in was brilliant, but the time of year the weather was not great. We still enjoyed our stay. I always wanted to stay on Valentia Island. We did feel like we lived like the people did over one hundred years ago. They had it much harder time than what we experienced. So we had a great time and I would come back again some day . I say anyone that comes too Valentia, will have a great time, staying at Cuil Cottage, all the best.

Not very professional.rude comments which being g in ireland I suppose to understand d.i can take a joke but there is a line that you do not cross when you own a hotel or anything else.no lock on doors.asked for our eggs to be cooked soft.came out almost hard boiled.rang to tell them how disappointed I was and they hanged up on me.not the way to run a business.would have expected that kind of service in a cheap motel

Not a large island it’s easy to travel around.
Not a large island it’s easy to travel around. There are some stunning views and superb coves and beaches. It’s easy to access by either bridge or 5 minute ferry crossing. Light pollution from where we were on the north west of the island was virtually nil, so a perfect spot for stargazers. We would love to go back as our day trip and overnight stay was just too short. My only tip would be to buy wine/alcohol at a supermarket before getting into the island as the local shop in Knightstown doesn’t sell alcohol. 👍

The hosts - really nice and friendly. We took the key with us but they agreed to collect from a shop on our way, apologies for that.
The position - remote feeling, but 1km from the town and pub/hotel/shops
The retrievers - great welcome from them!
Great place for peace and quiet
A stay at Glanleam is a very special experience, it is not like a B&B or a hotel it is like visiting family
Everything is relaxed and casual, it is the owners home and you can see touches of that.
We loved everything and as per many other reviews the breakfast was great
Friendly staff and amazing views!! Such a unique hotel rich in History, so rare to find such a genuine place like the Royal Hotel ! The food is also excellent 👌 There is a lot to do around the area and it's lovely to have the Royal Hotel to come back to and relax,
It was really cozy and comfortable and a perfect romantic night.we were the only ones there it was mid week and poured rain but we sat outside for hours under a blanket and it felt like the best hotel room in Kerry.
