The house is beautifully restored and was great for a big group. Ross and his team were incredibly welcoming and flexible to whatever we needed.

It was a good location. It’s a short drive to Kilkenny too. The food was excellent and the wait staff very friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable.

Parking was very expensive and a pain to get to from hotel. There is no proper connection door.
Prices and menu in bar restaurant were very expensive for essentially pub grub.. wasn't anything fancy.
Pool area was a bit grubby but overall the hotel was nice.

We loved the atmosphere and the staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem to them and the big warm stove in the foyer was just amazing the bedroom was spotless clean and lovely and warm for our hole duration the hole hotel was spotless Mags the waitress was just a gem I asked her could she make a sandwich for me it was very late a night it was no problem thank you Mags
It's quite the experience! The old building, which use to be a school if I remember the hosts decscription correctly, has big old-style rooma and windows, a wonderful communal kitchen with everything you need for breakfast and more (even though it's more like a hotel) and beautiful dramatic dinner / tea rooms where you get to meet the other guests.
We stayed for one night and asked for a quiet room as the hotel is located on a busy road. Our room was indeed quiet, also of a generous size, bright and clean. The bed was comfortable and bathroom spacious and with a great shower. We enjoyed the bog walk in the morning.
Beautiful house, ideal for a night in abbeyleix. Bramley and Morrissey's are a must visit also.
Ross is a great host and laid everything out very well for us. Will return
