location was amazing. The staff was very good and food was amazing nice home style food. The manager of the resort was very helpful and had arranged a nice boat ride in the backwaters. Had a pleasant stay.

We stayed as a couple for 1 night at Illikalam lakeside resort. The property is right beside Vembanad kayal and it's a really pleasant experience , enjoying the breeze and experiencing the serenity of sitting by the lakeside. We had a lakeside cottage. Rooms are quite basic. Staff was very pleasant and accomodating. Overall a pleasant stay.

Lovely building with well appointed and comfortable rooms. Fantastic staff and lovely home cooked food. All at a very reasonable cost. Whats not to like. I would reccomend the Wood Castle to anyone looking for an authentic home stay experience. 5 stars.
