The ambience, the staff and most importantly the place was excellent for couples to stay, I wish we could not have extra plans or else we could have stayed there for a week, cuz more you look at the moutains from that hotel especially balcony, you will feel like owning that house at any cost. Stay was excellent and appropriate guidance by the staff for us to visit locations was commendable.

Manali cannot be old for mountain lovers, no matter how many times you go back - the mountains always make you want for more!
Local eateries: Opt for local eateries than shiny restaurants. You will often be surprised. Rajma and red rice combination is staple and they cook it beautifully. You should taste Siddu - an amazing delicacy of their staple diet.
There is an eatery near Jana Waterfalls in Jana village - run by a family. You can sit on padded mattresses placed on the floor and eat from the thali placed on low tables. You can sit on conventional table-chairs also if you don't want to sit on the floor. Don't miss their vegetarian thali. It consists red rice grown in the mountains, rajma, saag, achar, and siddu - served with ghee and jaggery.
There are Rajasthani restaurants and Punjabi dhabas in the city who cook great food.
Rohtang is closed mostly till April, and beyond if it snows. Hampta La is a good experience. However, wild water rafting in Manali during the winter seems overrated as the rivers are mostly dry now. Hot-air balloon and paragliding can be worth it if you can keep the height in your veins :-)
A very sad thing I observed was that the government didn't give a damn about the endless trails of garbage strewn across the city.
Booking a taxi is fairly easy. For exploring higher mountains, it is strongly suggested to opt for 4 wheel drives.
Do try to visit during the local festivals. These are not overrated, and need to be experienced to know our people more deeply.

**Review for Montane Chalet**
**Review for Montane Chalet**
Staying at Montane Chalet, just 20 minutes from Manali, was a truly unforgettable experience. The property boasts a breathtaking view of the Himalayan range, complemented by the twinkling city lights below. There's something magical about enjoying breakfast with such a stunning backdrop—it’s a moment that simply can’t be matched.
The chalet itself is meticulously maintained. The rooms are neat, cozy, and equipped with all the necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. The atmosphere of the place is both warm and everlasting, making it feel like a home away from home.
A special mention must go to the chef, who is nothing short of amazing. Every meal was a delight, adding to the overall experience of staying at Montane Chalet. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with stunning views and top-notch service, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Manali is a very beautiful place visited by tourist all over the world. Commonly known as Switzerland of Indian. But there are lynchers and other crooks there who loot you in name of stay and are very impolite and have no manners at all.
Most of the people from Himachal Pradesh are good people and are helping in nature but the people doing business here are mostly from outside and are money hungery people

Old Manali is very vibrant and bustling with cafes and markets on both sides of the roads. Manu temple and Hadimba temple are the main attractions which can be covered by foot once you reach old Manali. There are a lot of cafes and shops for eating and shopping so you need not visit mall road. The scenary can be enjoyed on the riverside cafes or on nature trails in the pine forests. There are adventure activities as well, along the river in day time.
