Great view… very peaceful and well maintained resort. Staff is friendly and take good care of guests. They have electric buggy to assist with moving around the resort. Food is amazing, loved all dishes. Rooms are maintained well and cleaned well. Whatever they do in the room, no insects seem to come inside.. so thank you for that 🙂🙂

Best place to visit. 3 days stay can be ideal. Kozhugu malai view point we missed. 1.8 kM Zipline and jeep ride to that point was awesome. (Rs3250/person on week day and Rs 1750 on week ends) Tea estate views and Botanical garden water stream was mind relaxing. (RS 100) Elephant ride at Mattupatti dam was good. (600/person) For South Indian breakfast I would suggest Hotel Saravana bhavan at City center and Non Veg dinner at Alibhaba and 41 dishes hotel was also good with nice ambience. Driver also suggested ROMA in city center. I would suggest to visit before Feb as it will be hot after that.

The environs are great.
The environs are great. However, the town itself is overly congested and there appears to be no supervision of traffic, which runs wild on the streets shared by humans, as in much of India.
However, I think more should be expected of a town that exists because of tourism. It needs to be more tourist friendly, and by that I mean cleaner, better organized, less dangerous for pedestrians.
The streams running through Munnar are filthy with trash. Is there no governmental or community effort to clean this up? Really, I am sad to see it, and I feel that Munnar is being ruined so that within a reasonable amount of time unless there is an effort by the community, it will no longer be worth much for tourism.

One of the most picturesque locations on the western ghats.
One of the most picturesque locations on the western ghats. Tea gardens as far as the eye can see. Invigorating mountain air. Friendly and inexpensive. Getting here and getting around can take long and is slow. Be prepared for drive time due to traffic congestion in downtown especially if you are staying on the outskirts. Tourist hotspots can feel crowded so plan in advance.
Munnar is an amazing experience!

The main thing about Munnar is the nature, mountains,...
The main thing about Munnar is the nature, mountains, forests and tea & spices. Munnar is cooling and refreshing after the humidity and heat of coastal Kerala. There is not much to see or do in Munnar town itself. It is all about the nature and enjoying staying in the resorts and plantations which are located outside of town, some quite far. Well, there are some hotels in the town as well and one can book guided walks and excursions from these locations as well. This time I only stayed in the resort and did not have any need to go to town at all. This was my second visit - on my first visit some years ago I visited the KDHP tea museum and recommended it then.

Munnar is a beautiful place to visit, but it is preferable to avoid the crowded seasons, as the roads will be very congested and travel can be extremely difficult, especially if there is a block along the road. The Government Botanical Garden is worth visiting. There is a nice stream running along the bottom of its slope to one side, where visitors can sit down and relax. The garden also has a theatre, where they hold some musical and cultural events. There is also an eatery inside the garden. There is a good shop at Pothamedu View Point called 'planet cocoa,' where you can get really tasty home made chocolates.

I reccomend 3R hotel! Shiju was really nice the moment I stepped inside and we had dinner together every night! He was really helpful to give me the advices to how visit Munnar in the best way! The hotel was really clean and the view is amazing. The location is 5 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop so it was also easy to move around the area. A kitchen is available if you want to cook your own food.

It was an excellent stay at Grand Plaza.
Maintained so neat and clean.
The location is so central in Munnar. All places are almost at equal distance from the Hotel.
The restaurant was nice and even Veg food was enough( though not luxury and a lot of options). The staff was very courteous.
Room was water-body facing, and the suite room had enough space for 4 persons.
Arya and Nirmala, restaurant waiters were 5 star’s absolutely brilliant, best waiters in all of India.
Indian food was all delicious and cooked to perfection.
Rooms were modern and clean
