Good morning. We stayed at Raasa Veedu for 2 nights. As we couldn't find a good place at Srivilliputtur we chose to stay here , a good 20 kms away from the Aandal temple, but it was worth every penny. A joy for a Mumbaikar to stay in a Haveli , antique furniture,Burmese tiles on the floor, huge teak doors, swing, bed with canopy🥰🥰 The food cooked by Ms. Maariamma was yummy. Mr.Sarathy took good care of us enquiring what we would like to have for breakfast ,dinner. Sarathy also arranged a car for us to do a half day tour or Srivilliputtur. He also arranges for guests to go to the owner's coconut grive , rice field etc.A warm old man Mr.ChandraMohan who looks after the property at night regaled us with stories of how he has been connected to this family since the age of 16. The terrace is 👌👌to watch the sunrise.we can see the hill with a temple just behind this home. Mr.Natarajan who owns this place is a great conversationalist. It was a pleasure hearing him share details of his travels aroundthe globe and Bharat, how the textile industry has undergone changes etc etc. A highly recommended place. 90 minutes drive from Madurai. Best wishes and thanks for a great stay.🙂

The property is a house constructed in 1946 and beautifully maintained. Rooms are spacious with lot of wood work. AC and fan is provided. Toilets can be improved further. Once can enjoy the terrace with easy chairs and a great view of Western Ghats.
While approaching Settur from Thenkasy side take the second right indicated by google map. The first one will take you through narrow roads dumped with waste. Have option to take food on the Settur street from little TN shops. Vada and tea etc. are tasty. Take care to select shops to ensure food safety. One can stay here to visit Rajapalayam and Srivalliputur temple which is about 12-14 km. A great place to explore the village, temples, agri fields. A good place to take a break while travelling to Madurai, Theni, Munnar from Senkottai Thenkasi side
