Although the room was a little smaller than I expected, I can’t complain. The beds were very comfortable, room was clean, shower was really nice and all front desk staff we encountered were GREAT! We were able to check in early without issue, when I went to buy a bottle of water the front desk gal let me know the tap water there was drinkable (which I was hesitant about) but it was good and saved us money, and when we had last minute issues with our pre-booked transportation to the main bus station the front desk lady - at midnight - booked us a taxi for 3am. There are plenty of areas to hang out in the hotel, too, like the little library, lobby near the fire, community table and conference room. We liked being by the marina and within walking distance to the Lava Show and downtown.

Location of hotel was excellent. We only had breakfast on one morning and it was not great. The breakfast menu choice was limited. One chosen dish was smoked salmon served on a bagel. The salmon was fine but the bagel was inedible as it was rock hard. The other chosen dish was adequate but slow to arrive. There was an intermittent banging noise audible in the first room we occupied. It was loud enough to wake one from sleep at 6.30 am. We eventually changed rooms (after 3 nights) and the second room was much nicer and better appointed and we were no longer annoyed by the unidentified intermittent noise. We also enjoyed the champagne our children ( who were not with us) ordered and the hotel delivered, in an ice bucket and with suitable glasses, to our room

The room was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable. However, the room was not soundproof and I could hear traffic noise from the outside. Fortunately, it’s not crowded during my stay, so I could sleep without problem. My room was on the third floor and I found that the water from shower was quite weak. Moreover, the room used the warm light to create the cozy ambience, which was ok, but the light was too dim so that I could not pack my luggage well.
