Host is very passionate about his uncle’s art and has great stories. He is currently working on putting a bathroom inside the room, which will definitely elevate the place. The shower outside is fantastic and a must try! I could stare at the art, that covers the room and ceiling, all day. Great location close to airport, blue lagoon, volcano hike, and about 50 min to main city.

I had booked this hotel because my flight was early in the morning, and the hotel served its purpose well. The airport could be reached by only 5 minutes on foot from the hotel, while the breakfast was available since 4AM. The room itself was clean and tidy, but lacked of some facilities, such as heater and towel hanger in the bathroom.

This hotel offers a free drop-off shuttle service to the neighboring Keflavík International Airport between 04:00 and 10:00. WiFi and private parking are also free.

We spent most of our time in Reykjavik, but decided to stay in Keflavik overnight to be close to the airport for our 6a flight instead of having to figure out a bus or taxi ride from Reykjavik. Hotel Duus is about a 10min ride to the airport via taxi at 4a, so worked out perfectly. Restaurant within the hotel was a nice bonus! Was a little pricey, but it was delicious.

Beds and pillows were very comfortable and rooms were spacious. One of our room’s had a very strong musty smell in the bathroom that was hard to overlook. Breakfast was plentiful but felt like it had been sitting out for a while. The bread was hard, yogurt was room temp and the cream for the coffee was lumpy. Staff was very friendly and the roof top pool was as small but a nice feature. Reykjavik is only about a 40min drive away so I’m not sure I’d stay in Keflavík again given it doesn’t take long to get to the airport from the city.
