Based on the value, this is a great spot to spend a night or two. It is super basic put together on a budget but it is priced well compared to typical locations in the area. The place stayed very warm and proved to be a nice stop the first night in Iceland after a visit to the Blue Lagoon on our way to the East Coast.

The cozy cottage was well-equipped and clean. We’ve enjoyed the time in the private hot tub with a lovely view of the Icelandic landscape.
In the kitchen, sufficient pots, pans and dishes were available to prepare some meals. There is a supermarket close by (3km).
The bed was comfortable.
Overall, the location is great as a central starting point for various points of interest for tourists across the island.
The staff at the hotel could easily be contacted via phone and was very friendly and helpful.
It was a perfect stay for us.

We loved our stay! The place was perfect with everything we could need. The view was lovely, had Icelandic horses nearby, well supplied kitchen, adjustable beds, a clothes washing machine (1,000 ISK/load), and excellent star gazing. I highly recommend and will be coming back during my next stay in Iceland!

in the town of Þorlákshöfn which is undergoing a boom due to investments from First Water - a higly innovative, land based salmon farming opperation with lots of great new thinking backed by some sizeable investments.
That said - this property is a dormitory plus - nothing more....at least provide coffee, some choice in bedding, the abiltiy to have a queen (Vs 2 singles) & more than one pillow.
This eco-friendly hotel, 30 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik, is surrounded by nature in the town of Ölfus.

Very nice accommodations and theming of a hotel. I enjoyed the art touches in the halls and room names inspired by the horses with stories about each one. We also enjoyed visiting the stables. Very good breakfast also.
The Greenhouse hotel has 7 restaurants and a bar in its food hall, Icelandic designer stores, Icecream and a local food market.

Lovely, cosy cabin/cottage with all the facilities you could wish for and very tastefully decorated. Akurgerdi is in a great location with amazing views, close to all the amenities & shops of Selfoss (10 mins drive away) and golden circle highlights. A short walk/drive to the neighbouring viking restaurant Ingólfsskáli which is a must if you stay at Akurgerdi. Our host Sabine was very helpful and informative even to the point of telling us when the Northern lights were making an appearance. The only downside is that we weren't able to stay longer! Would definitely recommend and would love to be able to stay again.
