The location is stunning, although you will need to work a bit of sweat to get there (unless you come by car or can use the local mini-bus). The view from the balcony is mind-blowing. The house is in an ancient town building and you can touch the history here! It's not perfect, but it has tons of character! I was worried about the loft bed, but it was very comfortable, and I slept well there. I spent three weeks there in October for work and rest; it was a lovely, budget-friendly getaway. Agira is fantastic with its maze of streets and passages.

This is a really fantastic find. It is situated in a national park with stunning views. The town itself is perched high on top of mountain. The accommodation is excellent and to be honest it was difficult to get ourselves out the lovely comfortable bed to have our excellent breakfast. What makes it even better is you can also have lunch and dinner. With views of Mount Etna from the town and views over the the lake it is a place of outstanding beauty. Put all this together with incredible hosts and you have the perfect place to stay. We were so well treated and made to feel at home straight away. There was nothing that was too much trouble. Such a lovely couple. We personally have never been treated so well and we have stayed at many a 5 star hotel. You will really enjoy this place which is off the beaten track. There is no doubt we will be back for a longer stay. It's actually worth making a trip to Sciliy just to stay here. Absolutely unique.

Likely the best spot on the high part of Agira right underneath the castle ruins and a fantastic scenery view from the terrace. The owner is very responsive and helpful.

It is a breathtakingly beautiful small village, if you like places without the mass-tourism, you need to go there. Perfect location to calm down! The streets are super-narrow though, so we left the car at the parking slot of the hotel and went everywhere by foot.

The town was lovely but the roads were WILD.
The town was lovely but the roads were WILD. If you hire a car, please be careful as these were some of the scariest roads I have ever driven on.
Most places are shut at the weekend but during the week you will find lovely gelato shops, cafes etc.
The views are amazing and you have a clear view of Etna.
*Do not listen to google maps for opening times nor directions as this caused many issues including driving backwards around a tight corner up a hill on the edge of a mountain...
