The hosts were very attentive and friendly. The villa is beautiful outside and in. I lost my beads behind built in furniture and they retrieved them for me. Breakfast was generous continental breakfast with lots of choice. Staff always on hand making sure we had all we needed. Would def stay again and highly recommend. One of our group had an amazing terrace balcony where we were able to share our carry out pizzas, very pleasant, our hosts provided cutlery etc.

Assisi is world famous for the 2 saints – Francis and Clare – who were born here and subsequently founded Christian poverty movements. The tomb of the former is in the Basilica of St Francis, majestically located on a hill surveying the Umbrian countryside. Its graceful lines and powerful frescoes defy its 13th-century construction.
The Basilica of St Clare is from the same period and displays remains of the saint who inspired the Poor Clares. Between the 2 basilicas is the New Church, positioned where St Francis supposedly once lived, and the Cathedral of St Rufinus, dedicated to the saint who converted Assisi to Christianity.
Considerably older are the Roman villa remains near main Piazza del Comune, whose historic buildings house shops and pavements cafes on the site of the former forum. The columns of the Church of St Mary over Minerva were the entrance to a Roman temple.
Roman castle remains sit in the hills above Assisi, as does the more intact, medieval Rocca Maggiore which offers magnificent views over the town. Even higher is the Eremo delle Carceri, a stone hermitage where St Francis apparently preached to birds.
The cobbled streets ascending Assisi’s hills contain most of Booking.com’s accommodation options, including luxury hotels, cheap apartments and B&Bs near Santa Maria degli Angeli train station.
Assisi is such a unique and beautiful town. We went because of our interest in St. Francis and enjoyed seeing his Basilica and learning more about his history. The town was beautiful both day and night and it was lovely to experience both. There is a beautiful hiking path which is worth the walk. Driving in the main town of Assisi is tricky and it's better to park in the nearby lots and walk around the town. It is all cobble stone and very hilly, so it's a bit of a work out, but worth it! We traveled with teens and we all agreed we wish we had more time to soak it all in.

The town doesn't have a real grocery store, they are small with few items, so you need to buy your food in the valley below town. I was lucky to find milk for my morning coffee. Assisi belongs to the tourists, there is no doubt about that. You won't find the old way of living there, tourist restaurants and gelato shops are many. But the charm is unbeatable.

It's a fascinating city, full of history and amazing architecture. We went out of season, so it was nice and quiet but a lot of the restaurants weren't open. A lot of the roads are quite steep and cobbled, without many places to stop and rest.

The hotel is in a solid 1950s building, so no flimsy walls and noise from fellow guests. I had booked a room with separate private bathroom, but was actually given an en-suite room, which was a nice surprise. No air conditioning but a very effective fan, on a very hot night. Fridge in the room. The location, right opposite the railway station, the bus to Perugia airport and the bus to Assisi's historic centre, is ideal, and probably quieter and better value than hotels in the centre. Welcoming staff.
love love love this place!
best breakfast in Italy! Angela is wonderful and helped us with restaurant booking during our stay.
the rooms are the most beautiful and harmonic rooms ever, Angela has thought of every single detail in this location.
pool area nice and clean, perfect with the football and tennis court next to the pool.
we will definetely come back again!
The location was superb. Much care taken with the decor and styling... it was very tasteful. It felt newly renovated and was lovely in every way. Having a little terrace was a bonus. I highly recommend this apartment... I'd go back in a heartbeat. It is the best accommodation we've had in Italy thus far. Thank you for a beautiful place to stay
1) The location close to Santa Maria degli Angeli (and Porziuncola) church is perfect.
2) Also the bus stop to/from Assisi is just few steps away from the hotel.
3) The parking place is large and partially in the shade.
4) In the hall there is a very well stocked bar and regional specialties shop.
Friendly reception. Very clean room.
Amazing views of Assisi and the valley below.
Superb garden and terrace.
Family run hotel with a lot of attention to detail.
Refrigerator in room.
Beautifully prepared and presented breakfast with a choice of sweet or salty theme.
