Spacious, clean, warm and comfortable. The hosts were very pleasant and welcoming and clear communication about when and how to arrive.

The owner was wonderful. We did not have a car and he stepped up to help us. The grounds are beautiful. Very quite and peaceful.

It is a gorgeous property and the room was lovely. Breakfast was a welcome treat of chocolate cake, carrot (?) cake and other cakes and pastries. Mattea makes a lovely morning coffee!! It was a good jumping off point to explore the small towns in the area. In terms of services available to guests, it the basics in off season.

Beautiful quiet village in a valley with many hikes and scenic, off the beaten track villages to visit. The apartment is very well equipped and a beautiful breakfast is served every day.

Our room was both cozy and elegantly designed, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail that went into the restoration. One of the highlights of our visit was the exceptional six-course dinner—an absolute feast! Each dish was a masterful showcase of local Abruzzese flavors, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and presented with care. It felt like dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant, but with the warmth of a family gathering. Fontecchio itself is a hidden medieval gem, with narrow cobblestone pathways winding between ancient stone buildings. The entire town has an enchanting, almost timeless feel. The views from Costa di Maggio were nothing short of spectacular—rolling hills, lush greenery, and the stunning backdrop of the mountains. A special mention goes to the proprietor, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful throughout our stay. They spoke perfect English, making our visit smooth and enjoyable, and were always ready with great recommendations and insights about the area. Their warmth and hospitality made our experience truly unforgettable.
