This property is exceptional in terms of design and facility and attention to detail. We stayed at two different high-end hotels in Puglia that were approximately the same price. However, La Fiermontina was truly unique. What makes the difference is that the staff is incredibly attentive and they they create a very family-like atmosphere while still maintaining a feeling of professionalism and high and hospitality.

Lecce dazzles every visitor offering one of Italy’s best preserved walled historic centres. Its wonders include tasteful traditional cuisine, rich wines, and charming shops. Located near the crystalline waters of both the Adriatic and Ionian beaches, it is a perfect base to explore the Salentine Peninsula.
Its origins are unclear, but it is believed that dates back to the 12th or 11th century BC, when Italic tribes founded a settlement nearby, which Romans later occupied and relocated to its current position. The pages of its history are filled by Byzantine rulers, several invasions, a Norman rebirth, and an annexation to the Kingdom of Sicily.
Its distinctive Baroque style is combined with well-preserved Roman remnants. Don’t miss the historic centre during sunset, when the light creates a perfect contrast between the blue sky and the mild-yellow colour of the limestone buildings. St Oronzo Square houses the Roman Amphitheatre, while the outstanding Holy Cross Basilica is a must. Don’t miss the magic of staying in a hotel or B&B in Lecce’s Old Town.
The city is serviced by the local railway station, while Brindisi Airport is 45 km away. Whether you’re searching for rural accommodation in the surroundings of Lecce, a resort on the nearby beaches, or a cosy guest house in the centre, check out the deals available on Booking.com.
We went to Lecce to see the five famous Baroque churches.
We went to Lecce to see the five famous Baroque churches. You can see them all in one day. Don't forget that Lecce follows the "afternoon nap or siesta" schedule like most small towns in Italy. Most venues close at noon or 1:00 p.m. and reopen at 6:00 or 7:00 p.m., so midday shopping and dining is limited to tourist stuff.

A major centre for Italian Baroque architecture.
A major centre for Italian Baroque architecture. As many highly decorated churches and domestic buildings with wonderfully carved facades as anyone could want. Reasonably compact, you can cover everything on foot and there are ample bars and cafes for refreshments.

Lovely city to relax and enjoy the architecture, history and local food! An education on how to enjoy pasta even more! We hired a car and we were able to drive to small towns and found some lovely little restaurants with local food! Be aware that shops shuts for about three hours from 1 to 4 pm.

Lecce is beautiful - wonderful Baroque architecture and grand open spaces. After being in so many small hill towns in Puglia, it was a breath of fresh air. Roman ruins and history from other time periods (don't miss the Faggiano Museum). Good base for day trips.

The old city of Lecce was very beautiful, extensive, and there is plenty to see even in the off-season. Was surprised that the basilicas are not free to enter. You need to buy a tourist ticket, which is not expensive, and allows you to go into all the locations. While we were there in November 2024, the Roman amphitheater was under reconstruction--you can look in but not sit inside. There are very limited places to eat dinner before 7:30 but after that time there are many excellent restaurants for different budgets. One full day was enough to enjoy the old city. Lecce is very centrally located in Puglia and can be used as a base to visit other cities nearby.

Dimi House is a fantastic place to stay in Lecce. The shared facilities where you have your breakfast is just absolutely beautiful and super cosy. The rooms are lovely and gives you the perfect romantic feeling, and then the shower is great! 😄 would definitely come back! The owner is also very sweet and helpful, and made good recommendations even to other great destinations in Italy. You will not be disappointed. It’s great value for money and the best place we stayed in on our whole trip 🫶
This is a quality, luxurious, boutique hotel of just 9 rooms. The rooms are large, ours had a wonderful outdoor patio. Giuseppe and Raphaela were staffing the front desk and they were helpful, knowledgeable about Lecce , courteous and friendly. Our personal favorite was our breakfast chef Piera who is a cake, pie and tort master baker. Just a great experience at a wonderful hotel.
This hotel is fantastic I would highly recommend definitely 5 stars , breakfast was great, it was spotlessly clean so tranquil in a beautiful building. Great location also 10 min walk to the old town which is just beautiful.
I have stayed in a lot of good hotels in Italy but this has been the best was just amazing. Staff also so nice and very helpful.
Location in Lecce old town was perfect. Close to a wide selection of restaurants and bars as well as the character of the old town.
Great place to base yourself to look at some of the other town in Puglia.
Really relaxing vibe. The luxury room is super modern and spacious. The pool area is huge.
The location is outside Lecce but they have bikes, it’s just one road (8 min bike ride) to city centre
