It was quaint and welcoming, the people working there were lovely and they provided many little thoughtful extras to make the stay comfortable. The breakfast was good but it was very good because of the service. The location was perfectly convenient for what we had planned as we didn’t have a much time in Lucca

Once Italy’s 2nd largest city-state, elegant Lucca remains an important town on any itinerary in beautiful Tuscany. Its instantly recognizable historic center is completely surrounded by Renaissance-era walls which offer a leisurely "passeggiata."
Tree-lined bastions overlook the surrounding modern town, but their low height means that the best photo opportunities of medieval Lucca are from Torre Guinigi. This tower topped with trees overlooks the rooftops below and lush mountains beyond.
The bell tower of San Frediano is even taller and stands back from the elaborate gold mosaic adorning the church’s façade. Equally interesting is Lucca Cathedral’s façade, where every column is unique. The church of San Michele in Foro is on the site of the Roman forum, and the Domus Romana excavations are of a house from a similar era.
Roman amphitheater remains also form foundation stones of the medieval houses, cafés and shops of oval-shaped Piazza Anfiteatro. More sidewalk restaurants line Piazza Napoleone, Lucca’s largest square, around the corner from San Giovanni church, home to a festival celebrating Puccini, the town’s most famous son. Unsurprisingly, music is a big thing here, and summer and winter festivals showcase genres other than just opera.
Booking.com’s range of Lucca accommodations includes apartments, B&Bs and 5-star hotels. Properties are available near the train station, and some include swimming pools and parking.
Lucca is a fantastic place for a 4 or 5 day visit.
Lucca is a fantastic place for a 4 or 5 day visit. Loads to see and do, we climbed as many towers as we could to take in the beautiful panoramic view of the town. Walking the walls is great as you can dip in and out of the town at different spots and find some lovely piazzas , restraunts and bars you wouldn't find just moving around the main Anfiteatre di Lucca. All in all a great place and brilliantly connected to Pisa half an hour on train or Florence an hour and a half. Well priced trains and easy to navigate and book tickets.

Smaller town after Florence.
Smaller town after Florence. Good to take day trip to nearby town, we went to Pisa. There are some good restaurants and shops. enough to do and relax . We walked around the park / wall path once, about an hour walk. Very nice park, to get to see the entire city. There are buses or trains to go to other towns. We went to the tourist info. NOT very helpful staffs.

Lucca is a hidden gem in Tuscany! The well-preserved medieval walls surrounding the city make for a perfect walk or bike ride. The historic center is full of charming piazzas, stunning churches, and narrow cobblestone streets. It's less crowded than Florence or Pisa, making it a peaceful yet vibrant place to explore

Lucca is a historic gem, one of my favourite Italian cities.
It has perfect Renaissance city walls, spectacular towers, gorgeous trees, historic palazzi, high quality food and a sophisticated vibe.
It is compact and walkable. Pisa has the tower, but Lucca is the true star. ⭐️

The terrace is stunning, sits among the trees with views of rooftops and church with a bell tower..happily sit all day here!
Very peaceful & quiet area at night so no problems sleeping. Perfect location & Lucca train station only a 20 minute walk away so very easy to travel to Pisa/Florence etc for day trips.
Really enjoyed our Lucca stay.
The hotel was in a great location and nice & quiet. We booked all 3 rooms for family. The place was very charming, and very quiet. I think it was an old convent and had walls around the property so that kept it private. The host, Constanza, was very informative when we arrived and personally showed us to our rooms. She also gave good information and directions on how to get inside the walls of Lucca. Breakfast was fantastic and served in a room that opened up to the beautiful garden.
Good location durectly in the old town of lucca.
Parking is possible directly by the hotel or for free at the outside of the old town, 10min walk.
Very friendly and helpful stuff.
Breakfast was good, everything you need to start in the day
