Monpoli's historic centre and harbour are beautiful, clean and so easy to stroll around. There are numerous bars and restaurants in little plazas and in renovated stone houses and the walk by the harbour wall, castle and around the harbour is delightful during the day and at night with all the twinkling lights. We found a good mix of cuisine and very friendly cafe and restaurant hosts during our 4-day stay.

Pretty little harbour town with a small historic centre.
Pretty little harbour town with a small historic centre. Ideal for a quiet break. Good transport for day trips to other places. The apartment was ideally situated across a quiet road to a small bay with a beach bar and restaurant. It was also 5 minutes walk from the historic centre and about 20 minutes walk to the railway station. Would definitely recommend as a destination.

Loved Monopoli as a base to explore Puglia.
Loved Monopoli as a base to explore Puglia. We used trains for travel to Lecce, Ostuni, Polignano and Bari which was convenient. A short 15-20 minute walk to station each way. There are no local taxis in Monopoli.

The historic centre was bustling even in mid October.
The historic centre was bustling even in mid October. If travelling then, doublecheck opening times for what you want to see …some sites start pulling back on the days annd hours they’re open. Interesting harbour. Magnificent basilica. We were there 2 1/2 days, and used it as a base to also see Albarobello (pretty, but packed) snd locorotondo. If you’re looking for a less touristy town to visit, try Mola di Bari , about a 25 minute drive.

Monopoli was too quiet and off the main route for daytrips to other locations. I spent almost 3 hours getting to Alberbello by bus. It was also not convenient or too expensive to get to Matera. It was quite lovely in the evening and the food was excellent for a good price.

Parking in this area was terrible they need to restrict it to locals or people staying in the area.

The Masseria is a dream, really beautifully decorated and with a nice pool.
We had an amazing room within a Trulli, which was great and also helped the room to stay cool. The bed was very comfortable and the room even had a watercooker, which was great! Raffi the host is the best and made a fantastic breakfast every morning - this consisted of homemade pieces like foccacia but also specials like nuts and fresh fruit salads. The location is also great! Short drive to Monopoli but also Alberobello etc. are within good reach.
I stayed in the single room, it was perfect for a solo traveller, it was so clean & the bathroom was so spacious. The location is everything quiet at night & walking distance to everything Monopoli has to offer. Rosa is a fantastic Host & very helpful should you have any questions. The cafe in the square outside has the best coffee I’ve had so far in Italy & cakes/breakfast is amazing.
We booked this property at very short notice after a hiccup with our original choice. What a find!! Quiet, rural location with stunning views over Monopoli. Antonia was very friendly and welcoming. We all loved the place - it would be even more wonderful in the summer. Best equipped kitchen of our trip - highly recommended.
Location is great. 3mins to beach and cute restaurants. And it is next to the cutest little church in Monopoli
There is a rooftop access with the best view in town.
Host provided welcome gift (wine and local snacks) which is really sweet.
Really well located in Monopoli, a short distance from the main thoroughfare. The balcony is a sun trap in the morning and the property is located above Cafe Roma which has the best gelato in town!
