We loved this hotel! The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you. The welcome drink and focaccia with pesto on the terrace was a lovely touch as was the free shuttle into town. The views from the restaurant / terrace and from our room were breath taking. The spa was a great addition for a rainy morning activity - good facilities and immaculately clean.
We visited out of season so sadly the roof top restaurant was closed but will hopefully be back next summer!
Featuring a spa, the Astoria is a family-run 4-star hotel at the start of Rapallo's seaside promenade.

Central location not too far from the station and close to the sea. From Pisa you don't need a car, very easy to take the train.
I really liked the hotel, which is kept in the old one with high ceilings. Terrazzo floors. Kitchen niche where you can cook. Large terrace.

Rapallo is a lovely town, with great facilities. We used it as a hub to travel by public transport to the places we wanted to visit.
We went by ferry to Portofino (or bus, if the weather stops the ferries running) and by train to Genoa, Pisa and Cinque Terre.

Rapallo is a great base for the Ligurian coast.
Rapallo is a great base for the Ligurian coast. Not as spectacular as the Cinque Terre, or Portofino, but so much more pleasant. And so much less expensive and crowded. For me, Rapallo had the ideal mix of tourists and locals. And great access to trains and ferries to visit other towns on the coast.

Rapallo is a nice and interesting city with good public transportaron. The city itself has to keep an eye on the way they "sell" to tourists. On my opinion, after visiting Rapallo for more than 30 years, it seems its going a little backwards: watch out!

We absolutely loved Rapallo, easy to get to Cinque Terre...
We absolutely loved Rapallo, easy to get to Cinque Terre from here but less crowded, so glad we didn't stay in Cinque Terre and stayed the whole time in Rapallo. Rapallo has the most beautiful buildings with fresco's and the restaurants are also less expensive than Portafino and Cinque Terre. Loved Portafino , it is like stepping into a fairytale but it is only for the rich and famous, Rapallo catered to our needs. Our last night we ate at a restaurant called Sole, it was a little more expensive than the other restaurants but the food was outstanding, a truly incredible experience, the waiter was knowledgeable and five star, in fact all the staff were outstanding and we sat outside looking at the sea and the castle, really worth going and lovely end to our holiday. The weekly market was more like a flea market which was a little disappointing, still spent allot but allot of the goods seem to come from China and India. Will have great memories of Rapalla, our best stay in Italy as it made us feel relaxed.

- staff was very kind and welcoming
- great location, bus station to Portofino right in front of the hotel, railway station 10 mins walk away, Rapallo city centre and beach also close
- paid extra for the breakfast and it was worth it
- the terrace on top of the hotel has a great view and is open almost all the time
- there's a big parking close by which requires an hour disk and i managed to find a free parking spot at a 5 min walking distance
The hotel is situated on the top of a large hill overlooking Rapallo and across the bay to Portofino. The views were spectacular, both from our bedroom and the dining room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent. We were particularly pleased to be in the quiet of the woods above Rapallo which we could nonetheless easily reach by a telecabin that runs down to the town.
The location is less than 10 mins from Rapallo train station, 5 mins from the beach, bus to the beach is right in front of the hotel and easy access to Portofino buses and ferries. The staffs were a dream! They helped us navigating the places we wanted to visit and always has a smile on their faces. Very accomodating and the breakfast buffet were so good! We will definitely book here again.
The location is central to Rapallo and right on the sea front, with a lovely quaint balcony. A lovely apartment....we had contemplated staying in a 4/5 star hotel and am so glad we didn't. Everything was to hand in the apartment with good cooking facilities if needed. It's precious to wake up and have such views.
Perfect little hotel with everything we needed.
5 minute walk from the centre of Rapallo and 10 minutes to the beach.
Room was cleaned every day.
Breakfast was a small selection but had everything we needed.
