Honestly, I expected discrimination since the hotel was quite far from tourist attractions. Unsurprisingly, there were only Japanese guests as far as we could tell. However, the receptionists were all extremely helpful, professional, and friendly above all. I am from Taiwan and can only speak broken Japanese, yet they didn't treat me differently at all during my stay: unlike some of the restaurant and hotel staff members I had unfortunately encountered elsewhere despite trying not to speak English.
Here's the icing on the cake. My wife accidentally forgot a personal item that her late father had left her, because I got the checkout time wrong and had to leave in a hurry. I immediately contacted the hotel, but we were already in a different city far from Gifu. They offered to send the item to our next destination free of charge even though I insisted on paying.
I must say the staff was far more professional than some of the staffs of a few expensive, traditional onsen ryokan places we stayed in. Thank you, Hotel Route Inn Ginan Kokudo 21! 誠にありがとうございました！

I think it needs some renovation, upkeeping of the premise. Seats @ lobby was good, so have some power plug points for guests in need to charge their devices.
(the carpet tiles around seems quite dirty or been too long used.)
English-speaking foreigner staffs (at least one) at the reception is a bonus, in case local Japanese can't converse well in universal language (English) to any non-Japanese Asians or others.
Please check the English translations are correctly written in Hotel Information Booklet/paper given to guests while check-in.
Coin laundry - is it deep cleaned monthly? Since many guests uses, hygiene is necessary. (This is for all hotels, not just LiveMax)
