Everything was perfect ! The couple who manage, the room, the bar and the Onsen was the best one we visited, only little point that wasn’t perfect is that we can only use the onsen 50 min per day but it’s only if I have to find a bad pint 😉

The hosts are very friendly and helpful (and have the cutest cat - neko-chan!). The location has a nice sea view. The room is spacious and tidy. The breakfast cooked by the host is very tasty (and it's a loooot of food).

Definitely visit the zoo if you have the opportunity. It’s very interactive with lots of cute animals. The in Granpal Park illumination was also really good! 7/11 and Family Mart have amazing egg sandwiches. The kadowaki tsuribashi suspension bridge and trails are worth the visit as well.

Great places to eat, gorgeous river with light display in the centre of town, close to many attractions only a bus ride away. A smaller city, so lots to see in a quieter setting.
Seafood meals in the restaurants were delicious and an easy town to reach in a train from Atami. The MOA in nearby Atami a must visit.

It is a small town that offers a nice beach and some good restorants. It is perfect for relaxing a few days after the tour of the big cities. The first thing you notice is the absence of noise and then the blue sea fills your eyes and you feel peace hugging you.

We went during the winter season in February and it was good weather and an enjoyable stay! We were able to see the cherry blossoms! We saw komuroyama, the volcano omuroyama, did the jogasaki trail, went to kawazu to see the cherry blossoms, the imaihama beach where I definitely recommend to take a bike to go the beach!
I also recommend taking a day-pass at Ito station where you can take as much as you want the subway. However, for the mountains you have to take the buses so use your pasmo / suica card or cash. And it is also important to have a lot of cash on you because a lot of places take only cash.

I made a round trip along Ito coast.
I made a round trip along Ito coast. The west side is a rural area with its natural beauty and rocky beach well preserved. Not many people and houses, which fit my preference well. The east side boasts some world class white sand beaches, gorgeous rocky cliff view and small islands.

We needed more time!
We needed more time! We loved the coastline and beautiful beaches, the hikes and attractions. You need to be careful with transportation if you don't have a car: make sure you know what buses and trains you are taking in advance. If I could do it again, I would stay longer and rent a car.
Value for money. The property locates opposite from the station. I didn't have a car but used trains and buses.
There were a lot of things to do nearby if you like walking etc. Satsuma picking, walk along the coast to Ito Orange Beach. Tokai Kan near Ito Station is worth a visit. It cost only 200 yen (in Feb 2025) and it was an amazing building with some historical significance.
The Jogasaki coastal walk was also another nice thing I did by utilising public transport.
The washing machine was very handy.
Breakfast was not included, but available as an add-on, only traditional Japanese breakfast. The best feature is the onsen, both indoor and outdoor. Would go back to stay in a private room next time. Hotel is close to Maxi Value so you can grab snacks, drinks and even a meal if you like and they are open 24/7. Bus stop is directly in front of the hotel so if you arrive at Ito Station, can hop on a bus.
Thank you to K’s house for an amazing time in Ito. We loved the communal spaces, so lovely to sit in and catch the winter sun and read whilst waiting for the washing and drying( an absolute saviour with two teenagers). The onsen was gorgeous and the locals so hospitable, definitely our highlight on our second Japan holiday.
This was beyond expectation, the owner speaks perfect English and picked us up at the station, we were greeted by two lovely dogs in the house and enjoyed fantastic sea view from our room! Will def come back if we’re visiting Ito again!
