I will tell anyone coming to Sri Lanka - stay with Ravi at Margosa Mountain Villa. Best stay on our trip and top 5 lifetime. Stunning setting. Perfect room. Delicious food -organic rice, fruit, fish etc. right from the property, expertly cooked by Ravi’s wife Sewwandi. Pool is sublime. Birds galore (and easy to find and ID with Ravi’s help). Booked for two days. Stayed for 4. Great spot for excursions Dambulla, Sigiriya, and beyond, but we were happy just to relax and meditate on our good fortune to be there. Ravi spent 23 years as tour guide and it shows both in his care and expertise. I know this review sounds like a plug from one of his friends but I promise that 5 days ago we’d never met. But, yes, we have definitely made a new friend. Stay as long as you can.

This was our first accommodation stop during our 10 day family trip to Sri Lanka and we all loved it! It by far exceeded our expectations in terms of the hotel building, rooms, garden, eating area... The host and family and staff made us feel welcome from the beginning, spent time giving us local information, things to see in the area, arranging for transport to activities, and next stops on our itinerary. The food was incredible, we had breakfast and dinner both days and loved it!! All delicious local products. Even swam in their brand new pool! We would definitely come back and highly recommend to any travelers going to that area :)

Fantastic stay at Ridge Boundary View! Ruwan (host) was friendly, helpful and hospitable and couldn't do enough for us. The location is ideal if you don't want to stay in the hustle and bustle of Dambulla. You can easily get a tuk tuk from the main road to the property to get into Dambulla and beyond. Dinner and breakfast was exceptional and really good value for money. There aren't any restaurants nearby. The bedroom was spacious and clean with an incredible view of the knuckles. The stay had a homely feel and doing a tour of Ruwan's farm was informative and enjoyable. Would highly recommend staying here if you want a homely, peaceful experience with incredible views! We spent the night in a lovely place and stayed in a chalet that was private and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly, and Nalin was especially helpful with everything we needed. The location is peaceful and quiet, away from busy areas, so we drove to get there. During the day, you can spot some monkeys around. We added breakfast to our stay, and it was tasty and filling, with a Sri Lankan-style omelette, different seasonal fruits, and juice. Since I wasn’t feeling well, I asked for ginger tea, and they were nice enough to make it for me.
