Was secure and good for families and great food, friendly staff Check-in was a bit of a hassle. Despite showing that there was no price difference, they still asked me to rebook two rooms through Booking.com. The first room had a broken shower, so we had to move. The second room had water leaking from the ceiling due to the rain, which led to a third room change. Overall, the hotel feels a bit dated, and the swimming pool wasn’t well maintained. On the bright side, the restaurant staff were fantastic, and the food was excellent.

Just about the closest you can stay to the Sigiriya lion rock (you should get there at 5am to beat the crowds and an amazing sunrise). The owner gave me awesome personalized recommendations. Lined up a safari where I saw maybe 30 wild elephants. So many babies. Looks newly remodeled and very clean. Perfectly clean sheets and towels. Attention to detail. Large nice bathroom. Good local in house breakfast. Very relaxed town, close to easily walkable restaurants. I suggest the train here from Colombo 4$ second class. A perfect stay thanks to the super knowledgeable local host

Anyone who has traveled to northern Sri Lanka will quickly notice the difference. The area is geared toward tourism. Transportation, food, and activities are significantly more expensive. Lion Rock is often overcrowded. The Pick Me app is exposed in the area. The nature however, is nice and exotic. With a bit of luck, you might see elephants outside the villages.

Sigiriya rock is outstanding, and the jungle area is just wonderful. The small street vendors and restaurants near our accommodation, Nature Park Villa, appeared to be fairly new so pick carefully as we were left waiting 45 minutes only to find out the chef knew nothing of our order!
All part of the fun though.
Some very good wood carvers in the area,

The rocks are challenging and you have to have good fitness and balance to climb particularly the temple rock. No steps at the top of the climb, a bit treacherous but worth the view if you manage. The monkeys were very amused with our efforts going up or down. :)

Sigiriya is a lovely village with two spectacular rocks to climb, some lovely restaurants and a couple of shops.
Was very disappointed that there was one poor elephant still in this day and age being used to give lazy tourists trips up and down the high street, seemed particularly cruel as they are allowed to roam free in the area and national park. This should be stopped and the animals rights considered!
As was the case all round Sri Lanka there were no bins anywhere for rubbish and as a result the streets and areas of interest were littered.

It is a must to visit Sigiriya when visiting Sri Lanka.
It is a must to visit Sigiriya when visiting Sri Lanka. There is a lot of history in the place and the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Sigiriya Rock, Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura were definitely worth visiting. The view from the top of Sigiriya Rock was breathtaking although the hike of over 1000 steps was really tiring especially in the humid weather.

Great jungle vibe and nicer than the photos suggest. We spent a fantastic couple of days here exploring Sigiriya and Dambulla then relaxing by the pool, surrounded by coconut trees, and drinking tea on the terrace. Staff were great at helping us organise taxis and tuk-tuks to get around. Good, reasonably priced cafe/restaurant on site, and the village of Sigiriya, which has a handful of places to eat, is within walking distance, too.
Fantastic hotel. Very friendly and gentle staff. Very spacious room and bathroom, all spotless clean. Communal balcony where every room has its own private table right outside their door. An excellent breakfast will be brought to these tables. Sigiriya is a very nice village to hang out in, and with the lodge being so nice, I would have liked to stay longer if it wasn't for the poor WiFi.
The host Ashoka was very warm and welcoming. He gave me tips on sites to see whilst in Sigiriya and personally drove me to Lions Rock, Pidurangala Rock and Dambulla.
The accomodation was very clean and modern and Breakfast and dinner was delicious. I definitely recommend this place, my stay was perfect and Ashoka went out of his way to make sure I was well accommodated.
Very amazingly accomodonation with perfect swimming pool and best owner ever with charming nephew which was our guide And friend around Sigiriya and Dambulla area. Thank you for everything...you will remain in our hearts.
The team is amazing, the hotel is beautifully designed, the food is delicious and sigiriya rock and dambulla are in close proximity. The views from the room are splendid! Great place to stay to discover the region!
