We loved everything about this property. It felt like we were staying in paradise. The beach is super pretty, the pool nice and big and our room had the most amazing view ever. It was the perfect place to relax after we had travelled Sri Lanka for a week. We were super sad when we had to leave.

A small boutique hotel overlooking the Indian Ocean, Turtle Bay Boutique Hotel is located in Kalamatiya, Sri Lanka. Just steps away from the beach, it features an outdoor pool and Ayurvedic spa.

A great find in quiet corner of Southern Sri Lanka away from the crowds. A beautiful palm lined pool on a quiet wild stretch of beach. What makes the resort so special is the hospitality of the excellent team who can’t do enough to make your stay memorable. The small boutique concept works really well with excellent quality food and drinks and good value for money. We will definitely be back.

Located on Rekawa Beach, Buckingham Place overlooks the Indian Ocean and Rekawa lagoon.

Outstanding boutique hotel focused on sustainability and situated in the most serene and private spot. The facilities were excellent just like the food and overall vibe of the hotel. Nick, Kalpa and team made us feel welcome from the get go and always greeted us with a smile and chat every day. The room was spacious and very clean and the pool area was spotless and beautiful. Every detail was thought of: three towels (child usually gets forgotten in most places), extra bed, comfortable seating for our daughter and lots of lovely treats and surprises along the way. The spa ladies were so helpful too when our child was hurt. Amazing location for going on turtle nesting watch too which was a definite highlight. Highly recommend and wished we’d stayed more nights! Small two things for improvement: music for relaxed ambiance in the spa while having treatments would have been nice and would have loved the outdoor shower to have been separate from the rest of the bathroom but neither of these take away from our wonderful stay!

Located 3.6 km from Tangalle Lagoon, Mangrove Beach Cabana features free WiFi access and free private parking.

The location was stunning and very peaceful. The cabanas faced the beach and we could here the soothing ocean sounds. In terms of facilities, the only downside is that the bathroom was in a deep basement with a ladder to go down. The trap door to close the bathroom ceiling was also very heavy. The staff were not friendly - by far the least friendly of any stay we had in Sri Lanka. Overall, still a nice experience.

    This location makes it hard to leave it for something else. Amazing place for couples. Everything about this place is awesome. The included breakfast is great as well. Turtle beach is 5min by a scooter that you can rent at the villa.

    The owners and staff were delightful - the service great. The cabannes were in the style of my travels 50 years ago and a great reminder of how simple life can (and should) be. For eating there is plenty of choice in the area and all easy walking but not always in 32 deg 😂

    Tangalle is a mix of typical large commercial local Sri Lankan town buzz combined with touristy beach / restaurant / bar area. Very laid back along that 'strip', many bars and restaurants vying for business so you can be selective.

    Perfect place to relax by the beaches, some of them are like or similar a near private beach type; but, difficult to swim. Generally, the waves and current are rough and sometime dangerous to rocky beaches; in early morning time, 9-10 am, waves and current can be managed to some extent....

    It’s more of a local sleepy town and less touristy than the rest of the south coast. Lots of great beaches and family run restaurants. I could have easily used it as a base and stayed longer had the weather been better.

    Tangalle is a hidden gem!

    Tangalle is a hidden gem! So many wonderful beaches around the town. I stayed by the Goyambokka beach but preferred the neighbouring Silent beach, which was longer and so beautiful. I had dinner at neighbouring South Sea Pearl Beach restaurant, which served amazingly delicious food.

    The town has very little to offer.

    The town has very little to offer. It’s a noisy, chaotic typical Sri Lankan town. The only redeeming factor was Silent Beach on the Western side of town. We also enjoyed a nice meal at Cactus Lounge.

    I had a beautiful room with balcony and direct ocean view. It was so nice to wake up every morning and immediately seeing the ocean :). The room was very big and comfortable. I soon figured out that the location is excellent since there is a beautiful beach just in front of the hotel that you almost have for yourself, and a even more beautiful beach (Red beach) just a 10 min walk away. When I told the owner that I prefer the Sri Lankan breakfast over Western food they even prepared it for me one day.

    Spacious, modern and very clean rooms. The bedding is comfortable. The pools are very well maintained. The staff and the manager are attentive and caring. Located a few hundred meters from the beach and small shops, the Anama is a small haven of peace. During your stay, don't hesitate to try the delicious Sri Lankan breakfast, the best we have tasted in Sri Lanka. We highly recommend the anama Tangalle by Anka

    This property is amazing, absolutly perfect! The decoration makes it a true paradise in front of the beach. However the staff is the best, the hotel manager took care of us on everything, from the food to the excursions and more. I do see this hotel a must if you go to Sri Lanka, it is way worth it!!!
