Lovely place, ran by a lovely family. Felt like 5-star service. Food, drinks - yum! A very tranquil end to 4 weeks of travelling in Mexico.

Loved staying in the glamping tents. We got to see monkeys, amazing birds, iguanas and bats. We also took the tour to the rescue centre which was excellent and included a stop in a gorgeous cenote. There are also 2 cenotes within the premises. One is being worked on but we could still go to submerge our feet for a "foot spa" with small fish (my feet never felt softer!) And the other one was great for a refreshing swim. I very much preferred staying here than somewhere by the very busy beach.

Lots of food options, food quality everywhere was amazing, with four different restaurants and a daily buffet, plus unlimited 24/7 room service there is nothing to complain about. At every turn staff asking if you need anything, and bars are everywhere on site. Just remember to bring lots of $1 bills to tip the staff, they absolutely appreciate it. Sometimes we didn't have cash on us and our service was not any better or worse, but we made sure to tip next time we saw the person helping us. They have a host (in our case it was Hector - Amazing person all around) that takes care of you during your stay via whats app and you always see them in person walking around, it is a perfect touch to make you feel taking care of. I can't say enough about this hotel how they go above and beyond to make you feel taking care of during your stay. Honestly amazing experience.

Food was great, location out of this world, but the staff at Palladium were beyond exceptional. They went above any expectation to make sure our stay was perfect and memorable. VIP service the whole time foe a reasonable price.

My FAVORITE cenotes were at Sac Actun and Ecopark Kantun Chi. Sac Actun requires a guide, but it's not as expensive as some of the other places. The cenote is beautiful and they provide you with wetsuits (which helps a LOT with the cold) and goggles. It was a very cool experience. Ecopark Kantun Chi has 5 cenotes but we bought the entrance that allows you to go 4 of them without a guide. For us, this was perfect because we could spend as much time as we wanted at each spot and they were all so different and beautiful. I loved #3, which was an open sky cenote with a waterfall and #4, which was a really cool cave with spots where the sunlight streamed in from above. We got to see some lobsters there too. Also a very cool feature is that there are kayaks in several of the cenotes so you get to explore them that way as well. Another cool spot was Languna Yal Ku where we got to snorkel in calm water and see so many different types of fish. I highly recommend wearing clothing that covers your arms and legs since sunscreen isn't permitted and you are directly exposed to the sun the whole time. For meals, we enjoyed traveling to both Akumal Pueblo (for some simple and cheaper meals) and Akumal Playa on the other side of the road for some more variety.

Akumal seems to be a gated community of sorts, lots of condos along the beach and not much interaction with local Mayan people aside from service workers. The beach is very nice though rocky near the shore. Great spot to snorkel and play in the waves. The water is calmer in the morning, would be nice to stand-up paddleboard there next visit.

Dive shop next door was very good. We saw turtles , rays, barracuda, sharks , moray eels and a variety of reef fish .
We also visited the Mayan ruins in nearby Tulum.

Beautiful beach but very busy with snorkelling tours.
Beautiful beach but very busy with snorkelling tours. You have to pay to enter the beach and there are lots of hotels along the front - it feels kind of snooty. There is no village to speak of - most people stay in their hotels to eat so the centre lacks atmosphere in the evenings. There are many more authentic Mexican places to visit on the coast - I would come to Akumal fo the day but stay in somewhere with more vibes: we much preferred Puerto Morelos (and that beach is stunning too).

I would not recommend Akumal as a destination.
I would not recommend Akumal as a destination. Too many tourists, and there are too many 'service providers' trying to sell you a tour, being your guide, or something else that you don't need, or would be overpaying for. The only fairly authentic beach place we encountered was the Xcacel beach. Almost all of the rest of the beach either belong to resorts or private properties. Headed off to El Cuyo, which is a totally different place.

The apartment is very clean and comfortable and extremely well equipped, with thoughtful touches like picnic bags, beach chairs and a well stocked kitchen. The apartment is very nicely furnished and has everything you need. The block it is in has a nice communal swimming pool as well as access to a nearby beach club with another small swimming pool and loungers. The owner is very helpful and communicative and responds quickly to questions.
I had an amazing experience renting this apartment in Akumal. The location is perfect, close to beautiful beaches and local restaurants. The apartment was clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The owner was very welcoming and available to answer all my questions. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have an unforgettable vacation in Mexico!
Beautiful, spacious place for our family. We enjoyed having the option of enjoying the nice pool up top, or the ocean out front. We liked that there were kayaks and paddleboards for us to use as well. Akumal Beach was pretty close for us to do diving & snorkeling tours & grab dinner in the evening.
The beach location is the best feature of this hotel, it's truly stunning. At the time of my stay the beach was completely clean and free of any sargassum. The hotel also has a nice little pool area, a beach bar and room service. Friendly staff and good wifi, parking right in front of the building.
Usually when I go to all inclusive resorts the food isn’t that good but here the food is AMAZING! Listen, you will surely enjoy the all inclusive benefits of this resort. The drinks are also well done, they have great chefs and bartenders.
