Really beautiful property, really nice location, friendly staff and a comfortable, clean room. Only complaint is the barking dogs that started way too early in the morning and never stopped. Other than that a very pleasant stay.

Out of town, in the midst of rainforest, where only bird sounds and howler monkeys interrupted the quiet. An elegant spacious building with large comfortable rooms and usable common spaces. Effective air conditioning. The pools were beautiful, constantly filling with spring water and set amid the jungle. The staff was pleasant, knowlegeable and personal. Best experience possible!

The hosts were extremely helpful and addressed quickly any concerns I had. The first room did not have a ceiling fan and when the room next door vacated I asked to move there because of the fan. It was no problem whatsoever.

Palenque is a good place to stay whilst you visit the archeological site and museum. There are plenty of good hotels and restaurants close to the ADO bus station which is where you want to be.
There are regular minibuses to Palenque so no need for a taxi unless you wish to travel alone.

The modern part of Palenque, which is where gringos congregate,is quite nice with.a decent selection of bars and restaurants at relatively high Mexican prices. The ruins are about 1/2 hour away from town and are well worth seeing. They are quite spectacular. You can take a combi or a taxi to get there. Guides speak multiple languages and you should bargain for the price - around 1000 pesos for the English tour.
About 11/2 hours from town are the waterfalls of Misol Ha where you hike a short distance down a path to see the falls. You can walk behind them and go inside a cave with a lamp to see a beautiful waterfall inside the cave. You can swim there if you dare. Further along the road are the beautiful cascades of Roberto Barrios - 5 levels of waterfalls with beautiful easy swimming pools just outside a Mayan village. This is highly recommended. Also 2 hours away are the waterfalls of Agau Azul.

Palenque has many different sites to visit, including the MisolHa waterfall, was Amazing! Agua Azul spectacular! Weather wise is unpredictable so need to make sure to take un umbrella when going to any outings unless you don’t mind getting wet! Had a great time at the Maya ruins beautiful site took a guided tour and only costs us $250 pesos (Spanish) if you only speak English is more expensive! Plenty of restaurants to choose from delicious gourmet food
We were lucky to get on the Maya train just for the experience and went to the next stop at Boca del Cerro and took a river tour and Guatemala border was just one hour away!! We went across just for about 3 hours bought some souvenirs had lunch and came back
Villahermosa Tabasco is just 2 and a half hours by bus highly recommend to visit

Enjoyed visiting the ruins at Palenque, well worth seeing as they were in more of a tropical setting than some of the ruins we visited around Mexico City and it is still permitted to climb up to the top of some of the ruins. While visiting the ruins it was also possible to take a short jungle walk back down to the entrance. The town of Palenque itself was quite pretty with plenty of places to eat and the people were very friendly and helpful. We also took a trip out to Misal Ha and Agua Azul waterfalls which were interesting and fun as it is possible to swim in these areas.

I didn’t spend much time in the town, I was there for the ruins. Definitely take the tour though the jungle to see the ruins that are still covered with trees. Climb through the ancient Mayan Aqua duct, see the monkeys and try eating some termites. The whole experience in the jungle adds immensely to the site.
My guide was Victor, he speaks Spanish and English, very knowledgeable, well worth the money.

We stayed one night in town to visit the ruins
- had a good coffee
- nice evening walk in the town
- farmacies availeble
The ruins of Palenque was beautifull, due to construction/care-taking we could nog visist al the temples. I was sick at the time, but there were enough toilets on inside and outside the domain.
There is a second part more into the jungle where you can see more wild animals but my body was not up for that. As far as we could understand it does take a tour to do this second part.

I saw some reviews having some concerns about the hygienic conditions. To be fair I have to mention that the lady doing the housekeeping has done an incredible job, it's more the fact that the tenants are not diligent enough in keeping places clean for everyone.. Location is near the Autobuses Terminal and this brings a lot of convenience. I arrived Palenque at 7am with an overnight bus, the hotel allows me to check in early if there's an available bed.
Amazing view into the nature from the terrace, even though the hostel is located right in the city center, a few meters walk from the bus station. The WiFi was the quickest from all the hostels we have been to in Mexico, as well as the room was the biggest. We really enjoyed everything here. Very big plus: when we came back to Palenque for a few hours to catch our night bus, they allowed us to leave our luggage with them!! Very lovely.
Kin Balam is a very relaxing place located in the National Park of Palenque, on the way to the ruins
and 10 min drive from the city center of Palenque. I enjoyed the quiet location with the bungalows in the nature, the super helpful staff, the common kitchen with the mixer for doing smoothies and the relieving massage which was excellent ! I highly recommend this eco hotel which is also very good value for money. Thank you !
Convenience: The property is in walking distance of the ADO bus. Plus, it is a very inexpensive ride to the ruins.
Creativity: The hotel introduces visitors to the sculptures and carvings that have made Palenque so memorable, beginning with a full size replica of the cover of Pakal's tomb.
Service: The restaurant is good, servicable, and moderate.
Staff: Native Spanish speakers with plenty of English.
Big surprise - we we offered free breakfast in the hotel nearby. Great common area with hammocks, lots of place to sit and take rest. Close to the bus station, great spot to start visiting Palenque and surroundings.
